I use to be a Aviation Structual Mec..... in the USN I worked on the HH-60 Hotel... platfoarm. The H-60 has many variants that can have multible gun setups!!! The Large (Tanks) every one is talking about ARE FUEL CELLS and both the PAVE-LOW and the H-60 black hawk "army" version witch is indicated by the refuel boom on both models as the H-60 navy and marine versions are mostly grey and called SEAHAWKS.. although every squadron has 1 helo that is the "FLAGSHIP" witch have tail paint can cammo

Dude not sure if your talking about my heli in the above video, but that heli is a Blackhawk UH-60. The Pav Low is a USAF variant of the CH-53E.

@nyturtle one problem there with your scale then the army blackhawk does not have the external fuel boom on it it is the navy and airforce versions that have the boom. just some friendly advice from an army blackhawk mechanic.

The fundemental difference is in the avionics. "Pave" aircraft have cutting edge flight systems.You will also notice on Pave airframes the refueling probe and heavy weaponry, mini guns rockets etc. if it has a slot or a hard point its filled. Also to my current knowledge all Pave airframes belong to the USAF.

The is is a U.S. Army Blackhawk in Sage green.  The U.S. Air Force has the same H-60 that they call a pavehawk that has three main paint shcemes; GREY, GREEN CAMO, & DESSERT CAMO.

Yep they are fuel tanks, or as we call them, "jugs". They add up to 3 hours of endurance per pair of jugs. We can put on four jugs all up. They can be jettisoned in an emergency, then they'll act like bombs :-)

Australian Army only has 1 role for Black Hawk and that's utility, Americans operate so many variants but all/most can be fitted with jugs though.
