  • damn you guys arguing must be stupid. do you even know the name of the sample? look at the song title, shit.

  • You know who you fuckin wit biitch!!!?

  • So I let my mom listen to this and she got pissed off and told me to turn it off. I say to her "what did you say" pretending not to hear her while I turned it up even louder. Finally she goes over to my lap top and tried everything to turn off my lap top while the song kept on playing. She finally manages to turn it off and right when she gets up I press the power button and immediately the song plays. She picks up my $1450 lap top and throws it outside, smashing it everywhere. Lesson learned

  • hadn't listened to this song in 5 years, so glad I just searched for it bc I only knew of the sweet home alabama version. this one is much better

  • The world is a ghetto. american gansta

  • nope this is the original, well it was on the aussie release anyway.

  • I got the 12" on wax back in the day. But the weed we were smoking back then was so strong i cant remember what the original sample was. But im pretty sure it was Sweet Home Alabama. Anyway who cares its just a fukn dope old school track.

  • WHAT IF SHE'S NOT SUCKIN?

  • Pretty sure geto boys got sued for using that "call me the gangster of love" sample so they changed it to the "gangster boogie" sample. This is the original version, i can say it with 100% certainty..my friend bought this the day it came out, and this song was my favorite on the album for ages.

  • i first hear this on a cassette tape... yeah im old school

  • @Jueles1 Me too. It was about 1989 in Dublin, Ireland.

  • Comment removed

  • pure gold

  • @drchessman so fucking raw

  • This isnt the original ,i had the album thats on the screen and the beat and chorus is different

  • @playatimsta Actually no. This is the original. I know because I bought this single back in 1990. I was waiting for this album to come out. The original was this single. It used Steve Miller, The Joker in the background. Later on that album you see, came the same song, but with the beat to Sweet Home Alabama instead. I personally prefer this version though.

  • @davedaddy101 Yes, this is the original. they were sued and forced to pull the Steve Miller version. (This is my favorite version too.)

  • @davedaddy101 hahah come here darlin im tha gangsta of loveeee

  • I used to mix this song in with a lot of innocuous music and sneak it in the music at work -- which we played in the dining room.

  • Why the fuck des this song not have 25 million views!

  • @auwareagleau Because there aren't 25million Gangsters of Love,we're the last of a dying breed.LOL!!!

  • any1 know where the sweet home version is?...I used to have it on CD back in the 90s but it was a crap shoot to get it

  • If she has big titties i'll squeeze 'em & hold 'em, While she sucks my dick & licks my scrotum

  • Well i was listening to this in 87-88 so your wrong and the sweet home alabama is the gangster boogie version that came later after steve miller sued them.

  • Well i was listening to this in 87-88 so your wrong

  • "turn me over on my back, gold. Opened up my butt cheeks and started lickin' out my asshole." Classic.

  • "I treat a bitch like a queen, but she has to realize I'm the got damn king"

  • i just heard this on the radio and laughed hard

  • yeah this is the second version, the first one was on "grip it on the other level", this one had better production and inproved lyrics. in fact this whole cd was a remake of " grip it..." the version with the lynard skynard sample was the third one.

  • This shit is funny.

  • I think this is the second version because Bushwick is on this one. I bought like 3 different versions of this song. This is arguably the best one. It's clean (production wise) and it has the original sample (that later got yanked). Great post brah!

  • Steve Miller Band iz the Shit. good muzik. Haai Naa??

  • "...move along to the next trick, see I'm the type of nigga tell the hoe suck d*ck"

Str8 hood rap. fuck this 2011 soft shit.

  • This was and still is the shit, and you could play this now and people will still form a crowd and groove...

  • Every time you fuck up and skip a claaasss...LOL, this was the shit!

  • @uckosa Ima chick...and this is pretty clever...

  • @kiddosthang I used to roll listening to it. I lost the tape in the 90's and when I went to replace it they had changed it because of the sampling issues. It was good to hear the original. It was, and is, the shit! ;)

  • wow definetly one of the filthiest = what happpened to this kinda rap now there all fightin to find out who kan rap the ost sensitif and no i kan spell right but i just spilled a beer on the keyboard and ost of y botto keys dont work

  • Actually, this is NOT the original version. The original version was on the album, "Grip It! On That Other Level". And on th original version, Bushwick BIll wasn't rappin' on it. It was only Scarface and Willie D. This IS however, the original beat... without that gay ass "G-g-g-g-g-Geto Boys" bullshit in the chorus. But this is NOT the original lyrical performance. They made like 5 different versions of this track. Why... I don't know. The original was dope. All the rest don't compare.

  • KATHLEEN JOHNSTON, were u at??

  • Hell YEAH!!!!!!!

  • real hiphop here peace tx and tha ghetto boys

  • Great melody, must admit it is a put down for women, not right. At the same time, reminds of highschool days. I guess, I was too young to realize what exactly they were reffering to. 20 years later, glad I could bring this up but yet disgusted by the way they percieve women are. Not cool.

  • @rmfrench1 I used think women should be respected all time and all that, but honestly, there is a lot guys out there who need to hear this song a few times. Lots of guys who get walked al over by their women. Not that I'm saying you need to put women down, but there are plenty of women who treat men badly, so what the hell. Its good for the confidence if you've been clowned by a woman.

  • @Stferdinanddhalifax this and "Let a ho be a ho" beyond the whole "Be a man" message, both are great songs. If there's anything like this coming out today, let me know, i think they were ahead of their time.

  • @Stferdinanddhalifax I learned everything I needed to know my freshman year thanks to this song, god bless the ghetto boys

  • haha first time I heard this song. I love geto boyz, and I figured this would be a heartfelt song like 'i tried' or '6 feet deep'. This shit is hilarious.

  • thats a waste of time conversation am im fucking

  • I know, man! i know!!!! but i had a little confusion, because there is a version of this same song, with a sample of sweet home alabama. i know stve miller band!!!!!

  • finally someone posted the "original" version of this song.....the ruined this song with the reissue in the chorus with "Gansta Boogie, Gangsta Boogie"......

  • Sweet Home Alabama!!!!!!!

  • @archaiclonelystar try steve miller band- the joker

  • this is a slightly different version from the one i had. couple different lyrics and you can tell it's a different take by the way they're singing. anyway, still pretty true

  • still bumpin GANGSTA OF LOVE

  • "cuz I know I wore a fuckin glove! you know who you fuckin with bitch?!!" LOL

  • @originalrecoil This version of that line is funnier than the version with Face. Willie D was much more comical!

  • yep - the first hip hop album I ever got on cassette - in 1990 - big up!

    Recoil

  • lol fukn dope old school classic

  • pure class, grew up twisted to this track... vinyl was nicked but it had all the best mixes on including fuck em all, belta!

  • This song inspired me as a kid to never trust bitches.

  • wow back to 89-90...straight gangsta hip hop....Good ole days.........

  • the skynard version is better

  • @JParisi nay

  • this is the best song

  • I like bitches! All kinds of bitches! To take off my shirt, and pull down my britches!

  • I like to take it fast ....act like i love em..... and dog their mother fucken ass!!!

  • I prefer the Skynard version....Only because I wore the Steve Miller version out ...Waitaminute....I like the the Miller Band version better....oh f%&k it, I love em both. Glad they made two versions....

  • Remember this Anne, Tammy, Julie, Jina, Reagan? To all of my church friends. don't listen.

  • im the kind of nigga tell her "Hoe suck dick"

  • I remember cruising the Strand in Oceanside LMFAO to this!

  • Yea!!!!!!!Geto!!!!!!! This is my introduction to Gangsta Rap. Number 1 to me, Milwaukee Wisconsin is a Geto.

  • this version he doesent say some people call my the space cowboy ,,,

  • I finally got to DL this version today with Bushwick also appearing over "The Joker". By far my favorite with the "Home Sweet Alabama" coming second and my least favorite being the original with only Face and Willie D over "The Joker".

  • this is the only version i ever heard an plan on keep it that way why would you fuck it up

  • Everybody remembers their first Kathy!!!

  • 3:37 onwards, says it all!!!!

  • Damn, I was like 14 years old bumpin this jam. I'm 34 now and still love this jam.

  • The original!Hell yeah this is one hard fuckin song to find!Way better than the lynrd skynrd version!

  • ditto jpmiller999

  • you could listen to this 20 yrs from now and still sing along word for word......!

it's already been 20 yrs and i still love this shit........I don't listen to it everyday, but it sure brings back some good memories......

  • I'll just put my fuckin pants on and tell the idiotic freak to take her tramp ass home

  • the clue is in the picture above, its the album cover :P The Geto Boys by The Geto Boys, 1990. Still just as shit hot as it was 20yrs ago, nothing before or since can compare.

  • Fuck yeah, remember ridning out to this song EVERYWHERE, too bad kids today dont have great rap like this, sure it talks about some weird shit but we knew it was entertainment, long live the Geto Boys.

  • I'll beat the wrinkles out the old motherfucker......

  • All I want to know is... Where can I find Kathleen Johnson? That Ho is hot!

I love this version and if anyone out there can get a hold of a copy for my personal use...

  • Classic, I miss this type of hip hop.......Ghetto Boys RIP

  • The original Grip It version works better but I like the guitar riff from Home Sweet Alabama more. The other day I watched Con Air on the TV and all of a sudden that song came on, I instantly recognized it thanks to this song!

  • I have a version with "Sweet Home Alabama"

    its kinda better than this..

  • never. this is the original and ultimate version.

  • You want to argue with preference?

  • you need to ask yourself this question -- read your first post again. cheers.

  • Alright, so I meant : "I think it's kinda better than this".

    Grammar nazi.

  • i aim to please.

  • This shit IS the gear, like ya said both versions r cool but the stave is finer.Evrey man I know ,laughs like F#Ck when they hear it.

  • What album is this from

  • Both versions are fine, but the Steve Miller sample is 1000 times better.

  • ^^^^^^Agreed^^^^^^^

  • k8519 u aint no gansta, give it up straight milltown listening does not make you a gangster, milwaukee does

  • i haven't heard this song in SO long.. thanks.

  • This is the kind of shit every man should listen to, study, and practice! I am a straight up gangsta of love.....been a gangsta now for years.....and you can be a gangsta too!

  • I like this version, but I had a different version on my Geto Boyz tape back in the day....

  • @BlackDrunknmasta

The version u thinking of had The Steve Miller Bands track "The Joker" under it..but they got sued..i had it also..cant find it now

  • @bmanthebiff Yeah Big homie, that maybe the tape I too had.... Mine got missing back in the day riding my boys around back then and all of a sudden never seen or found the tape again... DAMN! "Those were the days" LOL

  • actually, the very first version of this had this sample, but Bushwick was not featured on that one. I have to say I'm a fan of the original Scarface/Willie D version. Old School Rules. peace

  • For all those wondering, there are 3 differen versions of this song. The first was from their album 'Grip It' (1988), which is similar to this one (Steve Miller sample), but doesn't have Bushwick. Then, according to Wikipedia, there were multiple pressings of their self-titled 1990 album. The first batch had this version (with Bushwick), and the rest have the Skynard version. I'm not sure why they changed it, but if ANYONE knows where to d/l this version with Bushwick, plz post or email me.

  • this *is* the original version with the steve miller band sample.

  • @mardenhill This ain't the original

Steve Miller wasn't so prominant this is a mix

  • @dicker410 this IS the original -- i bought the record when it came out in 1990, so i know.

later they had to remove the sample because it wasn't cleared and did another version with lynyrd skynyrd's "sweet home alabama" sample -- which was nowhere as good as this original version.

  • @dicker410 original beat but not original song check 89 grip it on that other level & you'd see bushwich didnt rap on the song.

  • @mardenhill this is not the original.. LOL.. so you dont know.. this is the remix.. the original was way fucken better, and Midget didnt rap in it.. wake up brotha

  • @AngryAtTechnology75 you're wrong fool... i bought this shit when i was in the 7th grade. Original release, same cover. this is the original. been listening to it for 21 years

  • @nowyouknow1 no your wrong,., this is the remix album.. the original came out about 1 year prior.. maybe earlier.. trust me , i know them, i became a fan when i met them and bought their records back in like 85..

go look it up,, this is the revamped album of the 1989 GRIP ON THAT OTHER LEVEL. which was the album AKSHEN joined in. now also known as Scarface. that album did not do well, so they revamped the songs, and remixed it.

  • @nowyouknow1 your right

  • @mardenhill

you moron-- its a steve miller band sample- NOT Skynyrd!!!!!!!

  • @HOTROD213 hey, dickhead -- tough luck to be illiterate, huh? i wrote it's steve miller, but your retarded brain couldn't grasp that. just stfu and leave other people alone, thanks!

  • @mardenhill Actually, THIS is the original version, taken from their album "Grip It On That Other Level". <<<< This album came out before Rick Rubin stepped into the picture and re-recorded the song for the album in the photo above.

    This is the best version:

    ?v=c6If4uSFbgM

  • @starchildExcalibur it's without bushwick bill, who used to be a dancer only at the time. so the 1990 version is the original full version, the 1989 version sounds more like a demo.

  • GETTO BOYZ the best rap artists ever!! SPOKEN WORD They tell it like it is on so many levels every song is from the heart!

  • Why does the itunes version have The sweet home alabama beat? i like them both, but jus curious

  • it's the other fucken level of the game.recongize bitches

  • thats a waste of time, conversation and my fuckin'

  • @jpmiller999 damn straight, i was 16 when i first heard this, and after, well, i learnt good, word up to the GETO BOYZ... switcheroo.lol im on the other farkin' level of tha' game, peace

  • thats a waste of time, conversation and my fuckin'

  • She's blowin.

  • this is dope !!

  • How many versions are there of this song? On one of them bushwick isn't even it. This one it's the same lyrics everybody saying a different verse and it's just drums. It's like that on a few other geto boys songs and albums.
