  • I saw Western Enterprise at Paddington- I suppose it must have been 1962- just a glimpse of a golden diesel as we pulled out..As a kid I wondered if I had dreamed it because I never saw a golden engine again and it was years later I heard about the desert sand livery of D1000.

  • i still have old photographs of my father at wolverhampton low and high level on his trains, i treasure them....

  • It would have been nice to see them passing through Bilston Central. It dont feel right waiting for the tram there these days !

  • hi hope your well , can you tell me how you came across this video and if i could buy it from some where as i would love to see it in full , i have a lot of photos of W/TON L / L but this is the only video footage iv seen , Thanks from tony.

  • Yes, I agree.

I also think that after a certain number of years, rare clips like this should have copyright lapsed and be added to a giant online railway database that everyone can access (maybe for a small charge).

There is another clip of D1006 also with yellow bufferbeams at Snow Hill station with a Pullman train, most likely because of Blue Pullman set failure. The train has 2 Choc/crm Mk1s in the formation (which must have been a shock to the passengers). Priceless.

  • its interesting to see wolverhampton low level

such a waste of a route to have it closed

  • FANTASTIC!!!!! Never seen footage of wolverhampton low level before!!!!!!!!!!
