  • Who else got here from Recess School's Out?

  • Ahh, those were the days. (Click my name, view Darwin or God) thanks!

  • Ivan.... where are you these days??

  • <3

  • For some reason, this song reminds me of driving in the backseat of a 66 volkswagen beetle in rush hour traffic, beating the summer time heat, well,at least trying.Probably because i lived this dream and will never forget it,love the old days .

  • wonder if this video exists without the wacky graphics.

  • They didn't like this song much when it was first brought to them. LOL. Now it's a staple on the oldies stations, and they probably still get a nice royalty check for it.

  • Mrs. Miller brought me here......XD

  • I love this song! Thanks for posting it!

  • What a great song! This is what 60's music was all about! Thanks for posting this!

  • Nice but I wished they used the echo from that classic

  • Help, my mind is stuck in a 1960's Monkee episode where David has to return

to England. It is running endlessly in my mind. Frozen time....lol

  • @jpsmart59 the episode your thinking about is called Success Story where Davy's grandfather wants him to go back to England because he doesn't approve of him being in a band.

  • I don't know what show this was from, but I do remember as a kid ( 9-11 yrs old), The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour on CBS gave a lot of air time to a great many California psychedelic/hippie-folk bands ( Jefferson Airplane, Strawberry Alarm Clock, the Turtles, the Mamas and the Papas, and the Byrds).

  • @SirReal1958 It's from Mike Douglas Show.

  • @SirReal1958 These guys were out of Cincinnati and later on in the "70s they became Ram Jam. They had another hit with a Leadbelly cover, "Old Black Betty"

  • I'm sure I remember an extended trippy sort of passage after it finishes here with the tambourine banging. Or was it the all the stuff we were smoking then?. This was always on at the Cook's ferry in Edmonton, and was the accompaniament to many goings-on!

Fantastic to just have a sudden memory-flashback, and be able to hear/see it again on Youtube.

Fantastic - thanks for putting it on (was that extended passage all in my mind? -it must have lasted 10 minutes)

  • @hullaballoo1

Definitely the stuff we were smoking then.

  • Wow...vocals are actually "live". Rare back then! Wore this 45 OUT back in the day...

  • @dwntwnmotorhead Yeah but it's just not the same without that trippy echo/delay on the vocals is it ("now listen while I play-ay-ay-ay") plus he goes into harmony on the 3rd verse and there's no lower voice behind him.Still good though.

  • Yep. I think they're confused. The guy playing sitar? isn't sure if he's George or John lol. hilarious.

  • @MrJohndl Its early Spinal Tap!
