Could that have anything to do with the demands placed on men and boys? I think so. I think it has a lot to do about how men are treated as success objects. Thats very ignorant. Of course all other suicides matter as well, but this is one of the few reasons that can be tackled with an open mind. To treat gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgenders and everyone else in between the respect they deserve. To be treated like a human, regardless of their preference. Because people like you 'not giving a damn', we can't move forward and leaving this all behind to making things easier for everyone. All suicides matter.

@phoenix1985 Suicide is the most selfish thing a person can do. They may not be in pain anymore but they hurt so many others by doing it and put the burden of their pain on them. There is Always another way out other then ending your life and I have condemned no1 to anything other then that selfishness. I too do not want any1 to end their own lives and you effect me in no way with any words you say. My speech is not from a place of hate but a place to say wake up! Stop being a baby.

Imagine being constantly told that what you are is a sin. Hearing stories about people like you being beaten up or even killed just for being who they are. The world can be a scary place for those in the minority. Especially if your rights aren't even guaranteed by law. These people deserve compassion, not hate.

They are just stating facts that GLBTQ youth are far more likely to contemplate, attempt, or commit suicide than their straight peers. They are trying to make the world a better place for them so they won't feel that they have to commit suicide. @SpiritDreamsInside Pheromones modulate gene expression so it would indicate that a gene is involved, but the same study also found that women have the same response to pheromones as gay men. It may be that the illusive gene can't be found because scientist have failed to differentiate between female and male genes in some area, and have instead just identified the particular gene responsible as a generic gene. Anyhow a correlation is not causal proof, but it is an intriguing point.

it technically is because they are gay or transgender, I give a damn too, but support groups can only do so much. we have to teach our children tolerance so that in the future gays, lesbians, and transgenders can be open and public about who they are. Its not just one thing its a combination of things that cause the higher suicide rate, but it is mostly because of intolerance, and support groups don't help against intolerance. not trying to be negative but you know its the truth.

So they can't go home to mom and dad and get help without "outing" themselves. I give a damn! No one will bully, gossip, harass or spread lies about LGBT people where I can know about it. And that includes ignorant church leaders in Utah who use a bully pulpit to millions to say things that just are wrong, wrong, wrong! They are part of the reason Utah has the highest suicide rat of men ages 15-24 in the nation!
If we do nothing, we are part of the problem.

It really hurts the people you leave behind. Find solace in poetry, Nature, sweet animals, helping someone else... This campaign is around because of the stupid loss of life because many people taunt and harass gay kids.
