i cried a lot while watching this movie, i dont understand why politicians are doing this, why are they making us suffer.. im turkish but my fathers family is partially greek, even if they are not you dont have to be greek or turkish or whatever to understand.. samie's and fani's mother hugged each other and i thought "we are all humans, greek or turk, white or black, why do we care? or why some powers are making us to care?" why just we dont love each other.. why is it so hard? life is short...

Perfect movie, so subjective, tells everything happened in 1950s in ISTANBUL. It was just a shame that two countries had exchanged people coz of their egos(1924-Lausanne Treaty, signed by major EU countries ). Those who had to leave from ISTANBUL, I always send you my best wishes when I walk on streets of TAKSIM, where you used to live and work. i cried when i watched this movie, because i m Greek-Cypriot and i have Turkish friends. Its full of meanings, i think its a movie everyone should see and try to understand, regardless where he/she comes from. A great movie about friendship and understanding, the two children have a friendship without borders.

Hate or violence are solutions for humans. I'm a french speaking canadian...but I discovored Greece in litterature, music and last year I went to Athens with to visit my girlfriend's family. I saw a beautiful union of occidental europe and the dreamin oriental world.

I cried too when I saw the movie...departure and leave the ones you love are one of the most cruel event of a life...regardless of the nations, races or faith.
