  • JAZZY = FAGY

    KKKK

  • I was really hoping the keyboard would play a bigger part in this....

  • 0:13 he's like yeah nigga slap that bitch

  • One thing that gets me clueless is, how do know what those big ass chords are called?

  • @robotman200 You study. -_-

  • @robotman200 Music Theory! You can definitely buy some books and get your stuff down.

(And they used pretty simple chords apart from the jazzy part in the beginning. It was all maj7 and b5.) ;)

  • fuck he's good

  • tosin abasi play the key?'' lol

  • The song at 0:05?

  • @Fainevitaexcessum Lost In Our Escape. It's on their album.

  • Dear Whitechapel, you dont always have to play breakdowns damn it

  • Why is it that the black guy in the back just bobbing his head made this vid that much cooler?

  • @FrettingCajarot actually, he's the metronome

  • @Krumboltz Either you came up with a crappy joke or a crappy know-it-all comment.

  • @FrettingCajarot why so serious? :D

  • when he plays it on clean it sounds so amazing...

  • Album is so damn amazing!

  • tosin abasi on keys!

  • yes!!!!!

  • WOW! THese guys are awsome! That guy has written some of the best djent riffs ive heard!

  • i wonder what equipment these guy's use, ive never heard anything as beautiful :')

like cab and head wise, all i know is they use dual agile 8's with active emg's and copius amounts of vaginal activity

  • @SynysterSte they use the axe fx, by fractal audio

  • DJAZZ!!!!

  • Finally a good band that uses agiles!

  • This guy knows his shit lol

  • this is not jazz it's jizz!!!

    epic

  • Do you play with a high A? Or a Low F?

  • @Genoc1deP7 it's just standard. low to high F#BEADGBE

  • What's the scale of the agile? 28.625 or 30? And awesome music!

  • @SxExMARCx It's 28.625

  • I just heard about these Guys now and they sound amazing, although he isn't a good teacher

  • The guy on keys looks so interested...

  • "Do you know how to play this song?" "Naw man, I just stand here and make the Africa face" *plays keys*

  • @SorryArchitect Not a fair comment...if you listen to there songs, you would know that he plays a role with the clean jazz parts...also, i can also hear the keyboard main parts of their songs sometimes...

you should be asking "why is it that the interviewer didnt give him a chance to show more of what he does?" who knows...but you cant say that he dusnt know the song....

he's not a guitar player of course, but if he's asked about his keyboard parts, im sure he can explain...

  • @DeBuraInc01 I listen to Ever Forthright and i know he's an amazing keyboardist and he plays a key part in the band. I was just quoting the black dude from Get Him To The Greek...If you haven't seen that movie, watch it, laugh, then you can understand that i wasn't saying he doesn't know his shit. I'm just saying he sits awkwardly in the back in this video.

  • @SorryArchitect ...hmm.... okay..no problem

  • If you have a black guy in your band, let alone a black keyboardist, you are destined for great things.

  • what kind of keyboard is that?

  • @LoyalHelena nord stage ex

  • White tosin

  • I mean no insult, but this is the first time I have ever thought a band was too progressive. I can appreciate the technicality and vision, but when it all comes together it just sounds hectic.

  • @TheTwiddlyBits

Wow that was a good summary :)

I honestly feel the exact same way... I just couldn't put my finger on it, but I quite like the way you put it.

    Agree 100%!

  • I wish he didn't use distortion so much.

  • is this guy a machine along with tosin ....the terminators are here

  • Human ears are not ready for this kind of music yet.

  • whats the song at the very beginning?

  • Oh my goodness, here we go! Now music is on the move. It's not that it's jazz, what it is is knowledge. Jazz artists have always been the musicians with knowledge of what they were doing with the music, now here is a band that knows what the hell it's doing. The people who speak theory are gonna get entranced, like me, and hopefully we will see the birth of a beautiful world. The listener is gonna love it because this stuff sounds INCREDIBLE. This band broke me outta my swing box.

  • @SuperYouGerT

Periphery and Animals as Leaders were doing this years before (speaking of bulb)

  • @theflavasava2 not exactly

  • @metaldude1982able

do you listened to bulb 150 free tracks on soundclick? well, i know you dont cause some of the tracks are exactly this style

  • @theflavasava2 I wouldn't say exactly this style but your semi right. This band is unique in many ways compared to bulb's periphery's stuff.

  • @7Kiymaira7

yeah it was more the sentence which said this even forthright invented this style that offended me :D

  • @theflavasava2 i agree

  • My head just blew wide open with all that theory!

  • i dont mean this in a demeaning/ignorant manner, but the presence of that black makes this video 20x more awesome!

  • fcuksin JIZZ ZOMG

  • This is groundbreaking. They have the potential to be the greatest prog metal band in the world. I really wish they would come out with a tab book-_-

  • This band could be legendary... I really wish they would come out with a tab book!!! I'd love to see them get bigger then meshuggah.,,

  • this is fucking amazing

  • I've heard agile 8 string guitars take loads of work to get them to a playable standard

  • @dimeowns100 Ours worked find out of the box. although, nicks guitar and my guitar feel slightly different, even though its the same model.

  • @dimeowns100 As was mine. played great out of the box.

  • @dimeowns100 when I got mine I instantly knew it was the best thing I'd bought.. felt natural the first time I picked it up, and the cepheus pickups you get on the dual have such a nice clean tone, maybe I'm just lucky with my model, but I think they're the best available, especially for such a retardedly good price.

  • Comparisons may be bothersome for the artists, but one can easily say Periphery is no longer alone at the very summit of groundbreaking innovative metal music. Periphery+Cynic+George Benson+Victor Wooten in a box.

  • agile guitars ftw

  • 0 dislikes \m/

  • Fuck.

  • This was magically delicious

  • WHERE THIS BAND COME FROM? Never heard of them, and they are fuckin' amazing! Thanks GuitarMessenger!

  • this shit aint music

  • @ubershredder1989 Too complicated for you?

  • @ubershredder1989 Oh, I know why you think that, you listen to older metal. Not judging man, but technical metal obviously isn't for you if you're a Pantera fan.

  • @KillswitchEngage42 Thats a very incorrect judgement, Pantera is almost my favorite band and I grew up listening to them, and Ever Forthright is amazing. I did vocals for them for a tiny bit and it expanded my musical taste. Meshuggah did it first when I bought Destroy Erase Improve in 6th grade but this is a new wave and its pretty awesome. I don't like any of the singers approaches to all these Djent bands but thats my opinion.

  • @Mmxz14 I understand that musicians can respect both Pantera and Ever Forthright without skipping a beat, but close-minded metalheads can't. That is why ubershredder is so quick to judge the complexity.

  • @KillswitchEngage42 are you bashing on pantera fans?

  • @kratoz13 Haha Not at all. I'm saying that some Pantera fans are such die-hard enthusiasts to a constant 4/4 time and pentatonic blues solos, that they don't appreciate apparent creativity.

  • @KillswitchEngage42 ah, okay :3

  • @ubershredder1989 yah. ur right, its actual music with talent wrapped into it. unlike just repetitive chugs and screaming about stupid shit.

  • This is amazing. Literally the ONLY thing I am not digging is the guys tone. other than that, this is great.

  • Does anyone how if he has a degree or has studied jazz? He sounds very knowledgeable about jazz theory.

  • @guitardude13211 yeah, he studied at SUNY Purchase

  • I love this band. So good :D

  • lol kevin.

  • Wow, this shit is sick!

  • I love this more than muffins... and that says alot because I freaking LOVE muffins!

  • this is the coolest shit ive ever heard!!! jazz tech metal! fucking crazy!!

  • not bad,its a weird combo,jazz and djent metal,its all good though

  • Yes!!!! This is the best upcoming group of guys in 2011! I love GuitarMessenger for this!
