I remember him playing this just after he wrote after he read the Tom Robbins book of the same name. In fact, it's through this song that he and Robbins became friends. This was when he was living in Santa Cruz (Aptos actually) and would play a restaurant/Bar called the Grapesteak on 41st Ave. Late in the crowded bar and you could hear a pin drop as he play this. He can really be a riveting performer. James is a romantic singer/writer. What I call "big R" romantic. Romance with life.
the lp was called midnight radio i think, i had the album,.,, check it out. he was from the santa cruz area, i remember lacy c dalton was popular about the same time.

the lp version of this song is incredible. wish this lp was released on a cd... what an awesome talent. if anyone has it please post it.

It is on CD called Even Cowgirls Get the Blues. It's a great CD. :)
