One of my favorite songs by my favorite band. Even though I don't speak Hungarian, I would hate to see them sing in English. The authenticity, culture and history is too rich to simply toss away. Hails from the U.S.!
A legjobbak!
@hustenovjak No, he is talking about the story of the song, one of the most atrocious assassination attempt in Hungarian history. In the year 1330AD, Kazimierz, Prince of Poland deflowered Klara Zach in the court of the Hungarian Kingdom. She was the beautiful daughter of a mighty lord, Felician Zach. The queen staged the raping, she helped the prince. As Felician came to aware of the case from the crying Klara, he ran to the king's dining hall(the king and his family were just having dinner)
Felician got very furious, attacked the king's family with drawn sword. He cut the queen's 4 fingers off, he wounded the king's shoulder, but at last a servant stabbed him in back with a tableknife, and stopped him. The whole Zach family got exterminated for revenge.
They showed no mercy even to poor Klara, they cut her 8 fingers and her lips and nose off, then they showed her around in the country. Felician's son was lashed on horsetail and tugged till death, cute Klara was butchered after her defacing and torture, her sister Seba was decapitated in the Castle of Leva, her husband was killed with hunger. This is the nice story, what they are singing about in this beautiful song.
@hustenovjak You can find an English translation here: mek.niif.hu/03900/03966/html/poetry5.htm under the title "CLARA ZÁCH".
It's not the most accurate translation, but still useful for those who don't understand Hungarian.
As it is a ballad, nothing is stated explicitly, everything is only hinted at. This contributes to the beauty of the musical interpretation, as it follows the mood expressed in the text. The first (violin) instrumental part is when Klára "searches for the rosary".
@cvuser11 sorry for the bad link, you have to write it in manually if it doesn't work, or at least delete the "%C2%AD" what youtube might insert into the url.
@hustenovjak The heavy metal part is when the father becomes enraged and goes to meet the king.
" His King indeed to meet, But not with him to eat.
A direful vengeance he hath vowed, His sword gleams as with heat. "
The second instrumental part hints at the swordfight. He attacks the queen, who raises her arm to block the sword, so the he only manages to cut off most of her hand. Historical accounts say he even managed to slightly wound the king, but this is not stated in the ballad.
Notice, that most things are only hinted at, this even helps the characterization of the queen: her piety is just a disguise, she officially disagrees with her brother but still arranges everything, and at the end orders the whole family to be killed, possibly with the intention to not be found out what she did.
Sad story, but remember that atrocity and to allow repeat it. Born Catholic, die Catolic.

This comment has received too many negative votes show

Ennyi.
A korábbi albumok zenei teljesitménye csillagos ötös.

Harangoznak délre, Udvari ebédre;
Akkor mene Felicián A király elébe. A király elébe, De nem az ebédre:
Rettenetes bosszuálló Kardja - volt kezébe'. "Életed a lyányért Erzsébet királyné!"
Jó szerencse, hogy megváltja Gyönge négy ujjáért. "Gyermekemért gyermek: Lajos, Endre, halj meg!"
Jó szerencse, hogy Gyulafi Rohan a fegyvernek.
