  • Very beautiful music, I have known this song but not like like this!

  • I am learning this piece as well. Although I am not nearly as good as you, I hope one day I will be! beautiful playing!!

  • moving

  • Thank you, very beautiful music. Also, good luck to all the Japanese people with your disasters. I hope things will get better soon. From Australia.

  • Very well performed. I humbly hope to reach your level some day. I feel that at age 27 it's kinda getting too late to pick up the piano again.

  • @MrQuagmire26 Nothing is too late, friend. It is not important to play in good technique. Enjoy to play!

  • @MrQuagmire26 You nuts? your only 27, ur still a kid, if 50 is half way what does that make you? Pick up a piano n go for it.

  • kore disuki yo! ano anatano piano ine!! sorede "tutorial" yatekurasai!

  • In my opinion there was a lack of something... oh I know, an applause.

  • wow... thats's so amazing!!!!! =3

  • Does sakura mean cherryblossom? I've heard that this is very important in Japan.

  • Good Performance - Best Wishes

  • Sakura Sakura

Yayoi no sora wa miwatasu kagiri

    kasumi was kumo ka ninozoizuru

    Izaya izaya mini yukan

:)) My sensei played this on a koto - beautiful ;D

  • let the damper go

  • I was staring at this for quite a bit, wondering if I could ever be that good and passionate with the piano. :)

  • @UchihaEmiko Hi. I wish you could find your own way to play music with the piano.

  • This song was popular and composed on a soundtrack a while ago....I can't remember what it was. This is a beautiful piece.

  • I loved your improvisation. I will share this with my piano students.

  • Awe- inducing. Terrific, really love Japanese traditional music and culture.

  • absolutely amasing. I sang this in chior years ago. I ended up naming my Puppy after this song. Thank you... thank you very much for playing it so wonderfully. Many thanks.

  • @agdragoon i sang it when i was in choir too. i was in love with it after that.

  • good work

  • Muy bonito. Felicidades. Nice. Congratulations. Greetings from Mexico.

  • Its very sweet <3

  • bravo, 5*

  • I love it. beautiful. <3

  • Beautiful!! Happy Spring my friend. God Bless.

  • incredible :)

  • I love your hands... very good job

  • No, no necesariamene.

  • Very nice!

  • So perhaps he wanted to entitled this piece "Japanese traditional melody" not "traditional music" but he simply used a wrong word. Clearly it isn't a traditional music and it isn't an original interpretation. But I like his piano adaptation anyway.

  • Acredito tocado de coração então tocado com honra

  • i can play this on trompete^^"

we played this in our schoolorchestra

  • heh nice wish i could have seen that D; must have been awesome =D

  • dude! u are geneous man! I loved the tune and I am in love with japanese music! cheers!

  • Great passion.

  • it sounds very beautifull and all but is it just me or does it sound kinda depressing played on a piano?

  • Oh yeah, I remember this song!

I didn't recognize it quickly. When I was still a beginner in piano, there was a Japanese song in my piano book called Sakura. It's exactly like this but maybe more shorter/easier/less complex/edited for beginners...I never liked it (or well, the book's version) until I heard this version ^.^

It's really beautiful! I can't help but imagine little pink/white cherry blossems (sakura) falling. Thank you!

  • nice man

  • It is so beautiful! Thank you!

  • ongaku utsukushii............

  • My kids loved this version. My 10 year old has been playing the clarinet for about 3 yrs and my 8 yr old is now playing the violin. I have a 6 year old and a 17 month old that are not playing anything yet. What advice would you give my children when it comes to practicing and chosing an instrument. Thank you for sharing your music.

  • i would say pick the bamboo flute

  • Allow the child to discover various music instruments, and then ask him which one he likes the most. Also, you have to chose an instrument that is right for the child's motor skills development. children under 7 or 8 do not usually have enough manual dexterity to play the harp, for exemple. But above all, let the child pick a music instrument that speaks to his mind and soul.

  • My kids chose the hydraulophone which they found was the "funnest" (most fun) to play, with water splashing everywhere. If the instrument is fun to play, they learn quickly and then also end up learning other instruments as well...

  • very good!

  • You really play this well! I love it! Great job!

Now I wish I could play this song somehow on my violin, haha.

  • beautiful tone!

  • Wonderful job, the tune had a rich tone to it, and the pauses and changes of tempo just sucked me into it. Beautiful performace.

  • is there any video of sakura sakura on flute? i've been wanting to search tat

  • type it in on wikipedia, they have sheet in treble clef.

  • Beautiful. Can I have the sheet music because I want to play your version?

It's still easy for me to sing along too! ^w^

    Thank you for posting this!

  • ...Beautiful

  • The playing is great- I got goosebumps at various turns. I wish the sound quality of this recording was better!

  • beautiful

  • very good music.. but i didn't hear properly of what he said at the begining of the video...

  • He says: I'm going to play the tune, Japanese traditional tune, called Sakura Sakura, which means "cherry blossom."

  • Oh, thanks. Hehe

  • Touching... Beautifull... Amazing...

  • すごくきれいですよ!

    さいきん大学の合唱クラブに入って、練習としてこの曲を歌います~!

After riding the airplane for a day and an hour-long car ride to their house, my cousins would take turns playing this song on their piano.

  • WOW...Amazing! ^_^

  • Thanks for sharing, a beautiful traditional japanese song.

  • Kawaii...

  • beautiful

  • I love this composition of it. One of my absolute favorite traditional songs. Thanks for sharing.

  • You play wonderfully..I enjoyed this a lot, my parents use to live in Japan and they bought a figurine that played this tune, and it's been a sort of lullaby to be for sleep..I love how you do this, it's so wonderful..Good job.

I knew this song before, performed by Led Zeppelin in 1972 when they were playing in Kokaido Nagoya Aichi. John P. Jones played it on keyboards but with a different sound, and the audience was humming along! beautiful.

It is a Japanese traditional music.

  • it is very beautiful, very traditional.

  • celestial until i hear heavens melodies

  • This is so beautiful music, I can't describe it with words...

  • I agree with You. I no wonder why this simple melody is a symbol of Japan and Japanese music in whole, the same as Korean Arirang or Peruvian El Condor Pasa.

  • cADA VEZ QUE ESCUCHO ESTA MÙSICA VUELVO A MI VIAJE EN 1970 .JAPON NO TE OLVIDO NUNCA.

  • I prefer the koto but this is beautiful as well

  • I like your rendition of "Sakura Sakura". Your playing the piano didn't take any of the beauty from it! Absolutely beautiful!

  • I love rock but this, this, well this is one of the best things ive ever heard

  • This song is soo beautiful... Nice playing! I think of the game red steel when I hear this song....

  • omg... in my school we have japaneise people come to our school and one year i had to sing this song wow it sounds so beautiful on piano

  • what does the sakura signify? It seems to be very potent and popular

  • I think it means cherry blossom. And i think that stands for something in japan. All those beautifull tree's in the spring and summer makes Japan a very beautifull place. Kind of a symbol i guess

  • It does mean "cherry blossom" and they look beautiful in the spring.

  • I've never been fortunate enough to go to Japan, but I did live in Washington, DC for 5 years, and they have a lot of sakura trees there. And it DOES look absolutely gorgeous in spring time. <3

  • Sakura in japan signifys how shortly beauty lasts and how short life is, and how you should cherish it while you can.

  • Those very trees you saw in Washington, DC were presents bestowed upon the US from Japan in 1912 in a effort to enhance the friendship between them. It was as if you had the essence of Japan and the honour of a friendship regained after the war residing near you... :D That sounded cool when I said it out loud. Kawaii!
