@aStrayforMyTime Really? I have one of those near me and i never even saw such a deal! Maybe i missed it by a couple months... dang!, nice find! About the wrapping, so im not the only one haha.
@Riskas132 The motherboard doesn't "fit" the SSD. That is your case's job =). Im almost certain there wouldn't be any compatibility problems since they are both sata 3.0. But, like EKSBEntertainment asked, there is no ACHI mode in this motherboard (that i know of). So if that is the deal breaker, look for a more suitable motherboard.
@EKSBEntertainment Does not look like it. I went through the bios set up, and no where does it say anything about ACHI. But it does support "6 x SATA 6Gb/s connectors", direct quote from the manual. So if the ACHI is a deal breaker for you, id recommend a board that can guarantee it supports it.
@privatepinky Is it a sturdy board good for a budget gaming board. i bought this exact mobo today (i'm not installing it yet cus' i need to get the processor haha)
the way that the SATA plugs are located is amazing... this is my first "mid" range mobo.. i read about this mobo and i wanted to buy it ... plus the price (argentina) is 162dolars, when the 880gm USB3 costs around 165dolars...
great price/quality relation
one i get my AMD FX4100 procesor.. i'll see how this baby handles it. LOL
@MrOvercloker hahaha! i was just kidding, cause this board is full of "point O" things and i being a bit facetious. (for realz thought, i hope you know there aren't 4.9 connectors on this board...)
@haugabodl97 I think it depends on the case. The board will surely run it, but i am limited to 12'' cards in my case. That is a nice card tho, i think i've found my next purchase when the price drops on these!
@samboode sure it does. If you need to know more, go to this guys channel Voltar02 And ask him what you need to know. He has run both nvidia, and amd cards on this board.
@icpjjj I cant see any reason why it wouldn't work. You just have to make sure your case can fit it. It looks like a big card. The only concern i have is if the length of the card would run into the SATA connections. I dont know for sure but its probably ok.
@switchblade1291 Hey, here is what Voltar02 said about his. "Crossfire works fine. This board is not Sli ready so thats out of the question. I belive the Gigabyte 990 boards are. I run two 6850s overclocked fine on this board. The pci slots are 16x and the other is 4x. This is fine for crossfire you only loose about 10 percent of the second card. I have run benchmarcks with single card and dual and it is almost twice the performance with the two 6850s. I do recomend this board for Amd Gpus."
@switchblade1291 I know what youre talking about. That is where some of these PC builder sites are false advertising. A guy on tomshardware bought one from a pc builder with my mobo, and he bought it intending to do sli (or crossfire, i forget), but found out the hard way it never supported what he was trying to do. BUT, i only intent to ever run one card, so i bought it knowing that this probably isnt a dual gpu friendly board.
@privatepinky im in pretty much the same boat right now haha i didnt even think of doing crossfire but my friend ordered a pc with that motherboard and he had crossfireing in mind so i gave him my old 5450 to go along with the one he has. we will see how it works out.
@switchblade1291 in that case go for it dude. You aint got nothing to lose. Let me know how it works. I might have to then drop in another 6770 in mine. hehe.
well anyways go to c y b e r p o w e r p c . c o m because thats where i bought mine and make a pc and select this motherboard and click onto the image of this motherboard and it will give you a description of everything about it, scroll down to where it says multi-graphics technology and it states it right there.
@switchblade1291 ok in that video that @HarderStylesOfDance linked to, the uploader said "When useing Crossfire on a x16 ans x4 you looses ten percen of the other cards performance" (@Voltar02).
just a question. dont you research what ever you are planning on purchasing before you buy it because it does not seem like you know what you are talking about?
@switchblade1291 errrm, sure they are both x16, but one RUNS at x16 speed while the other is at x4. And to my knowledge you cant run SLI or crossfire on an x4 speed. I think it has to be x8 at the minimum. And ive read a number of complaints across forums that people arent able to sli/crossfire on this board. But please, proove me wrong and gvie me proof of someone sli/crossfireing this motherboard! :) if you want sli get the 990-fxa-ud3
@HarderStylesOfDance Wow thanks for that! You are the first one ive seen that confirms this. and it runs ok at x4 for that 2nd gpu? Well im glad i have options now for future upgrades!
@privatepinky Its not my video the the poster left in the comments "On BF3 I get 50 frames on avg. with one card but with two it I will get over 80 on ultra."
most motherboard boxes aren't shrink wrapped (honestly i hope you were joking by expecting it to be, they might do it at big box stores like best buy, but they don't come from the factory like that)
@kght222 honestly, i didn't know what to expect since that was the first motherboard i bought. But come to think of it, my CPU, and GPU weren't shrink wrapped either. But good to know! And thanks for explaining what ultra durable meant.
@Hyp0theria Yep, it can accept AM3 and AM3+ (aka the newer 32nm vs the previous 45nm) And supports these CPU's: FX / Phenom II / Athlon II / Sempron 100 Series. Also, i use the Phenom II 955 BE, and that is an AM3 socket and it works flawlessly.
@neverlast666 just get a good cpu cooler, and enough power, and you probably will be good. I cant say anything about it though since i dont do any overclocking. but good luck.
@wodka450 Yes, the fx-6100 is AM3+ type socket and this motherboard is AM3+ as well. That is partially why i got this, for future compatibility. But, i did not have the budget to go the bulldozer route yet. I'll wait till they come down in price a bit. Also, if your wishy washy about the fx6100 see what quad cores you can get for that same money. Because i'm sure most games run around 4 cores. Not 6 and 8, as of right now.
Thanks for uploading a video on this board! This is the only good video out on youtube while the rest are weird picture slide shows. Been looking at this motherboard for my first pc build and seems to have petty good reviews and price for the quality.
@balzich14 totally agree with first part. And this board was for my first pc build aswell. I was/is a total newb to this and boy is this board awesome. SOO simple for a beginner to navigate. The manual is very clear (to me at least) and i never had any trouble with where things go. ONLY ISSUE though, was when installing into case, took a little fine tuning cause the I/O shield was being a B, but that may be cause its case specific. Otherwise, its a great board with a lot of nice features
i was going to buy this board but got the Asrock 970 Extreme4 as it has 3 pci express slots runs at x8 x8 x4 while the gigabyte 970a-ud3 is only x16 x4 pci express but both have the same chipset but great motherboard
The flat ones go in on drives where space is not an issue. In tight spaces such as between graphics cards and hard drives, the right angle cables will work better because they don't stick out as much. It's purely for cable management and aesthetics.
@TheOrigonalKoil haha, yea, when i opened them up the next day to build it, i found they are labeled 2 for hdd and 2 for odd, like you said. Some of my knowledge in the vid is a bit dated, since now i have my completed build.
i got mine at mircocenter there was no plastic wrapping got it free when i got amdfx8120
