@Saints9R I'm not over rating humanity.I never have.You are under rating us.Your self included.By time you I get old we'll probably be colonising the moons of Jupiter(around 2070-2080).If that is not rapid advancement then I don't know what is.Also I never said advancement is infinite.We will reach the limit one day if we actually exist by that time but saying now when we're only scratching the surfice that we are nearing the limit already is just stupid.

I'll take you up on that. If by 2070 we are even near of colonizing jupiters moons, or actually even just our own moon or ANY other stellar body than earth I'll condemn myself to the pits of hell. I believe by 2100 we will maybe have some sort of space station orbiting earth with something resembling a colony. That is if our own stupidity doesn't become our doom before then.

@Saints9R Ok,2070 was a bit short of a time frame.I thought about it after I wrote it.But by that time the moon and mars wil have atleast a small permanent colony on it+there will be a few space hotels to.I'd say this was a pretty safe assumption.

Let's expand that timeframe to 2100-2120 for jupiters moons.We,or atleast I have a good chance of living till then with all the science advancements nowadays.If I manadge to get somewhat rich I'll probably have a chance to expand my life to 150 years.

@A2thedouble Accordind to new researches intelligent life can be very rare in our universe. Protein based life can exist only in some places of galaxies ( in the middle segment ).Life can't exist too close to the core of galaxy or too far from it because chemical elements are unstable . So in the Milky Way there are only few planets where civilization can exist (or existed , or will be in future). The problem is that it's almost impossible to find another civilization .

There was once public speculation, even from US government, that Phobos was an ancient space station. When we discover NEOs covered in white paint, they're announced, assumed to be S-IVBs and life moves on.

Religion? Even the catholic church has already put out statements that aliens are fine.

For the first time, I disagree with Michio Kaku on the subject of national security. Free speech is the one thing that makes America stand out above the rest. If we had to silence every scientific discovery just because some religous fanatic might get their feelings hurt, then we'd still be in the dark ages, believing the Earth is flat. As for all ETs being carnivores, then I guess that makes Alien VS Predator more real than Star Trek :)
