  • i had to read this in eighth grade and our teacher made us listen to an old english reading of it. we had to draw what we thought grendel looked like and most of the class drew giant green blob monsters. it's weird how all of us conformed to one depiction when he could've looked like anything. i also recall thinking the battle with grendel's mother was the creepiest. i don't remember much from it haha. should probably reread it.

  • I love Beowulf and I really enjoy watching your classic picks. I would recommend "Grendel" by John Gardner if you haven't already read it. It is a really interesting postmodern novel told from Grendel's perspective.
