i went to a College of the canyons and we would play Occidental i believe in a preseason scrimmage type of deal and they was a good D-III team from what i heard..and we honestly would beat them pretty badly
I can also testify that often dIII teams from the iowa, ohio, pennsylvania and west virginia area beat divisions II NAIA and JC teams. Often the d2 teams are bad and shouldnt be d2 in the first place but are nonetheless. States like Arizona,Nevada and New Mexico constantly have super JC teams because there are no d3 schools to compete for recruits against. Im sure that Mount Union and many of the wisconsin teams(tho ive never seen these schools play in real life) would beat top NAIA schools.
You apparently have not seen a D-III game. The game would not even be close. The top tier D-III schools regularly beat D-II and top NAIA schools. JC players often transfer to D-III schools. Pierre Garcon of the Indinapolis Colts is from Mount Union who were the D-III runner ups last year and champs the year before. A middle tier-lower tier team and the JC champ would be a good game.

DIII champs need to go against the JC football champs. That would be a good game.
