The last GREAT Funkadelic album...spankin' in time!
The 77 million of us born in the wake of World War II (1946-64) have been 'spanked' digitally; (radio, tv, stereo, walkman, computer, Atari, Playstation, XBox, ipod, cell-phone, etc....) our entire lives. George and the Mob just spelled it out. An incredible piece. They are a lot more conscious than the casual observer would ever understand.
This was always one of my favourite Funkadelic songs. I hadn't heard the song in years until today, but I am glad to see my opinion hasn't changed! Their music is too quirky for it to ever be dated, so even though it has an 80's sound to it, it's so unconventional that it's still fresh.
This also goes back in the day when I bought an album as a kid especially Parliament/Funkadelic albums and would put the LP on the record player and read everything on the album cover. The album cover of any Clinton album was classical art.
I have to admit this is my favorite Funkadelic song of all time. I love the norms Knee Deep, One Nation, but listen to this song carefully, its the most amazing song in my OPINION. It is. The Bomb the alarm,LSD. We are going to miss the genious of George Clinton when he's gone the same way we missed Michael. JACKSON.
I heard rumors that this stuff had to be pushed to the point of being told people didn't want it. I can't understand it, it's got to be the grooviest stuff I had ever heard. The old day of cassettes, wow.
this was their last Warner Bros. release and was a mixed bag of tricks. it's got some tracks George had in the can for years like the colloboration with Sly Stone Funk Gets Stronger which is my favorite.
These are funk legends. I mean the best of the best when it comes to funk. I like Parilament and Funkadelic equally because they all have that good sound.
this is a crazy jam by funkadelic! junie morrison is one of the most unsung musicians ever. michael hampton is on lead guitar on this track. should have got more airplay. i urge everybody to google junie morrisons 2004 song when the city. its kickin! just google junie morrison when the city vox it should come up.
for all you latecomers...funkadelic and all the other variations...bootsy parlet brides, horny horns etc...they were the sh.....t still are in my opinion. So much talent, junie, bernie, glen gary george ..... it dont stop
"You can walk a mile in my shoes, but you can't dance a step in my feet." This was a very late response to Fuzzy and Grady who recorded an album under the name Funkadelic in the late 70's when they left George Clinton. They had one hit and went away.
This music is still amazing after all of these years, P-Funk arguably has got to be one of the most creative bands of our lifetime, they would do records about almost anything, quality early 80's music.
Love the comments but like a lot of musicians and groups that were ahead of their time PFunk was mistyped and mismarketed. true creators and innovators usually are. For example there is an absolutely wonderful video on this medium of Jimi Hendrix attending a show of Buddy Guy who was really doing some of the things we associate with Hendrix 10 years or more before J. Hendrix got to play with God. Please learn the history of Black music in America, and learn about what influences really mean:)
p funk was heading towards new ground in the 80's sorry but this was ahead of hip hop, punk rock, and what michael jackson, rick james and prince would do george and crew left them on earth when they made this. while sugarhill, kurtis blow and rappers were sampling p funk was breaking unheard shiznit every album says this.
I agree. Junie is the bomb. My personal favorite writen by him are The Motor Booty Affair and One Fun At a Time (George Clinton solo). He has this "romantic funk" vibe and his singing is beatiful (in a straight sort of way). Also check out Parliament's May We Bang You for some killer singing by Junie. Peace!
man michael hampton goes off good solo george was adopted at the age of 17 hmm was this a hidden message you know george was born in 1941 and the parliaments poor willie was cut in 1958 george was about 17 then was george giving us clues that he had his first ufo encounter when he cut his first records.
@michelle2837 adopted at the age of 72 ... this was referance to RONALD(6) WILSON(6) REAGAN(6) WHO AT THE TIME WAS 72 AND PRESIDENT. at the time reagan was rumored to be the ANTI CHRIST the GREAT COMMUNICATER and so on, you can walk around in my shoes but you cant dance a step in my feet was in reference to him. in fact this whole album is talking about him (the ultimate sir nose) the BAR CODE STAMP(666) free alterations(666) off the computer games album. look at the HARCORE JOLLIES ALBUM
@MissFunkentelect he was taking a shot at Fuzzy,Simon, and Calvin because they made a album under he Funkadelic name at the same Electric Spanking came,

This album to me is almost like they were starting to play 80's music for the first time EVEN THOUGH THEY SPENT THE 70'S INVENTING 80'S STYLES!
