Best live visual show I've ever seen by far, and I've seen a ton. Won't be beat or repeated for some time. Maybe Radiohead's next tour, but I wouldn't count on it.

I really don't like Year Zero much. I was totally psyched about it when it came out, and it's still a cool concept, but musically it's just too messy. It'd not a BAD album, but I'll put it this way: If someone was looking to get into NIN and asked me to recommend a starting place, I would steer clear of Year Zero. It's an album for "advanced" NIN fans only, and the fact that it translated so poorly live just proves that IMO.

Now The Slip, that was a masterpiece. Almost as good as The Fragile.

Alright, I get whats going on here. You must of started "liking" nin a few weeks ago or something. Yeah, I like songs like the big come down, and everything off the fragile and etc. (thats my favorite nin era) but if you haven't noticed, Nine inch nails is often considered an "industrial" band... so "noise" is a big part of Trent Reznor's musical identity.

Also, if you say that Year Zero was translated poorly live.. you obviously didn't see this show live.

Don't be an elitist fuckhead, I've liked NIN for years. They're one of the first bands I can remember listening to as a kid. I stated my opinion and you got all bent out of shape - don't be a bitch.

I loved Year Zero when it came out, I loved the mythos, but the album just hasn't aged well at all, musically. NIN can do noise beautifully, but songs like The Great Destroyer aren't that. The live performances of Year Zero are just lackluster when compared to other albums.

From what I understand they use standard midi instruments and program everything through apple main stage and add all their plugins from various software instruments.

However, Robin Fink appears to be using a key with moog etherwave built in. I could be wrong, but the motion of his left hand in some portion of this film looks as though it is.

Mainstage for sure. I highly recommend it if you play out.
