  • Really sublime performance of Händel's Flute Sonata. The support of the harpsichord is very gentle. An ideal combination of the two instruments. Thank you for the nice upload!

  • Another Handel Sonata Well Performed By Another Talented Player

  • where can i get sheet music for this? or what book is it in?

  • Incredible!

  • you are playing beautiful

  • oh my lord, i'm looking for ornamentation inspiration for this pieces and you delivered.

  • good job

  • goodjob

  • good job

  • hay people this is a really good piece but im doing this for my grade 6 flute and im stuck in some places where this person has done some trills so im abit confused at the minuite :( but it still kind of helps me

  • Ok, I love your performance!!!!! It's inspired me for when I do this for an exam later this year :) THANK YOU!!!!! :)

  • How can I get a recording of this? I thought Rampal did this well, I was wrong.

  • Sounds amazing!

I'm playing it for my year 12 music prac on tenor sax....obviously transcribed. A great inspiration! :)

  • Oh, It's a beautiful Sonata, and you're playing it AWESOME! I'm going to perform it on my flute diploma :)

  • Wonderful!!!!! the best interpretation of the Haendel sonata

  • This is amazing!! I have to play it for my Grade 6 - wish I could play it like that!! This is really inspirational ;) Thank you

  • @SachME20 I did this for my Grade 6 also! Hope you passed!

  • @chantdebataille I did!! Thanks! :D Moving onto grade 8 now - OUCH! haha :S

  • I reckon the style in the Larghetto was great and the notes rhythms etc. in the Allgro were vey accurate, though I thought some of the ornaments in that movement got in the way of your musical direction within phrases.?

  • @guziyin It does seem to loose its way doesn't? Even though he followed the "rules" of the ad libitum, i found myself loosing the spirit of Handel durring the allegro. I would like to have heard the essence of the second movement come out a little more durring the repeats when the customary color was added. Matter of taste though i guess. (By the way, guziyin you got a good ear.)

  • @stark1770 thanks; I'm a flute player myself, but I've only been learning for under 5 years. do you play?

  • @guziyin Been playing for about 25 years, lucked out in high school, I was in the right place at the right time(Mt.pleasant,MI). I met a fantastic teacher that went to Juliard, and was a student of Kincaid. At the time I didnt invest too much value in that (because of my own ignorence). Since then I have come to realize that that experience was quite invaluable. She was in her later years, and I learned a great deal from her, she charged me nothing, knowing that my family was quite poor.

  • @guziyin After finishing my education, and being able to make a living, needless-yo-say I made it right with her, considering she spent week upon week for a few years investing all that time and energy with me at no cost. It was truly a blessing in which I will cary with me for the rest of my life. (Im 34 now)

  • Played with great musicality! Very nice, well controlled vibrato and intonation. Very nice subtle ornemantation. You fore sure had the skills to tackle a piece much more technically challenging. (your teacher made you do it?) Fantastic harpsichord playing also!

  • awesome (:

  • Bravo!

  • great interpretation!

looking forward to your handel sonata in E minor hmv 359b

  • Good job.

    I liked your variations.

I though you were avoiding the high octave. The music I have shows different things.

  • =]

Thinking of doing this piece for nyssma.

    Beautifully played

  • lovely!

  • Very fine indeed! thank you for posting this Daniel. Your Ornametation is SO WELL thought out and nicely executed!!!!

  • Very beautiful! Even made me feel like abandoning my recorder and going for transverse flute. (But I will not do it! xD)

  • wie romantisch und zart!sehr schön!ich mag wie du spielst es!

  • Great to hear a Handel flute sonata so well performed.

  • Thanks Hector - I'm glad you like it!
