I applaude the enthusiasm, but this desgn has been around for a long time (OTP switchblade) its the exact same prnciple, it's a great start, but one of your fingers is immoblized because of the nessesity to have a way to put the blade back in

Thanks guys if I had the time I'd make this I would also make a leather bracer with a leather glove attached to the bracer sew tight metal strings into the glove and connect it to the tiggers so there would be no key ring just a flex of the hand like Ezio and make a fist to retract . This blade looks a lot like Desmond miles' hidden blade minus the bar and aluminum

@MrElementalair easy way to make the blade take both switch blades cut one point off one and weld it to the other the take the " blade" that they use the aluminum strip and shorten it so the length of the blade fits weld it to the modified switch blades and you now have an actual hidden blade , the only thing that's hard to do which Scowt tech helps us with is the mechanism

guys wouldn't it be much easier if, once you measured out were the rivet going to be place to then measure from the top of the aluvinum with the bade then cut the aluvinum so you can stick the actual blade on the end instead of making a really dull crap blade outta the alvinum?

Also an idea to extend the area in wich you can move your hand would be to tie a string to the key ring of the trigger to another key ring so you could make the trigger activate from farther away

Those single blades are illegal in UK. If there are other people with this problem, watch TheBserk's blade turorial. It is only spring loaded to retract, but that looks so much cooler! If he can make it, you guys can, but duel action, and make it legal!

@Me04120 Aluminum is a very weak metal. Probably one of the weakest you can get. Good knifes are generally made with a good sturdy metal center and a harder more brittle metal on the edge for cutting. You don't want the whole knife made out of the hard metal on the cutting edge since it increases the chance of breaking it off, which isn't good.

In summary, an aluminum blade is shit. You could probably kill one person with it, but the blade would most likely be destroyed afterwards.

Not bad but id rather use the small blade from the switch blade and weld it to the end of a strip of steel instead of aluminum. Id use and Oxy Acetylene torch since it can made a neater weld than regular spot welds. Id also replace the standard triggers with a steel pull strings connected to a leather strap that goes over the middle and index fingers. It would make it much more easy to conceal with in a bracer with glove.

And with the rod that connects to the switches, is it possible to make the rod only connect the two switches, and connect wire for that last few inches to to the ring, or is it too hard to switch then? Because the rod looks a little dodgey in the hand.

Instead of making an awkward long metal trigger why not just measure the rod to the end of the blade and attach a string with a key ring. It would not only look better but make it easier to hide. Then that way if you wanted to cosplay (or god forbid kill someone) you can easier hide it beneath a long shirt and maybe a glove (or wear a ring with the keyring behind it). That would also allow the mechanism to be more of a one size fits all since there isn't any bending to ones hand. Just a thought

@lukhtai11 you can get of the finger part of te bar and just attach a small bar to the switches then get to strings one for pulling forward and one for pulling back. pulling forward it simple you pull it pops pulling back is different get a metal loop very tiny and just screw it on the blade in back of the second switch but not too close then run a string from the back switch through the loop up to ur finger and make sure it a few milimeters longer than the pulling forward so that when i ejects
