  • zakari had false start.blind man could see that...

  • wow, Drummond didnt move!!

  • Ha good for that faaget Aziz, im glad he cramped up, thats what he gets for false starting 2wice, and causing the IAAF to make the new FS rule

  • 2:10 HE IS STARING INTO YOUR SOUL.

  • where is jamaica ?????

  • i lol'd when i herd thw whistlee, its like fricken u12 70m sprint haha

  • @HUGOVANTA they still use the whistle today lol, its to alert all the athletes that they must stand behind their blocks ready to start

  • @Pepsimaximo1 dude im a sprinter and high jumper for western australia, i know what it means, just sounds funny.

  • wats the difference between wr and or?

  • @Aidokinn wr: world record , or: olympic record

  • hahaha i love how the guy in yellow in lane 2 fault starts on intentionaly, he did the same thing in the semi's aswell and what it does is put pressure on the rest of the field, its that reason why they changed the fault start rule

  • @ronaldinho1072 are you serious? all because of that friggin guy???!! cause I just got DQ'ed a couple days ago cause some idiot in the crowd was clapping to imitate the gun. :(

  • @blacksoilder10 well it wasnt just because of this guy it was because lots of athletes who felt they would win started doing it hoping the big runners would get dq'ed, it was also cus big tv companies said it was taking to much time

  • greene's tougue is so funny.

  • The 200m this year would have been great had johnson and mo greene not hurt themselves in the trials. shame.

  • @johnnyblack1974 Best competitors on drugs

  • Kim Collins looks so young! Can't believe he's still running now after 9 WC's!

  • @johnnyblack1974 Well said.

  • greene loves licking his lips lol

  • thank god for usain bolt because Sprinters were real tight asses back then! exept for Kim Collins who chills all the time! Usain understood the real key for sprinting : relaxation! ps : drummond didnt move

  • i still say that bolt is the best sprinter now because he has stamina, Greene slowed down near the end. Usain bolt also made 3 world records in sprints. Bolt is my idol

  • Apart from the great times Usain Bolt has... I still say Maurice Greene was the greatest sprinter of all time.....

  • @ghettojaw no way bolt break 3 wr'S IN 1 OLYMPIC GAMES AND 2 WR's in 1 World championship bolt is idolised where ever he goes

  • 5:30 just great celebration.

  • The good ol' days where a false start would only get you a warning. Sensible times.

  • why does Dwain Chambers looks like a Usain Bolt on steroids?

  • when is a white dude ever gone win 100m gold again??

  • @jabu285 that french guy might in the future but 100m sprints are now dominated by jamaicans...there just built for speed.

  • @Igman2020 Dammit :D

  • @Igman2020 5:16 actually...

  • 2:21 he's pooping

  • 2:24 what so funny BITCH!..dont bother my concentration 2:10

  • Why would you throw spikes into a crowd?

  • 5:18 for start of the race

  • @johnnyblack1974 dont forget all the juicy stuff

  • why the religious?

  • lol hugging boldon and thinking "sorry bro i did them there roids, muahahahaha"

  • The one person who doesn't like this vid is the gut in yellow who injured himself

  • This isn't fair to have the Olympics in Australia in the middle of the winter! its gonna suck for Sprinters in Rio in 2016 well at least on the track (wink, wink).

  • @12Aggiefan Late August is not the middle of winter, it's well into Spring... which in Australia is much warmer than Spring in the UK, US or most NH countries... Even though it was a cool evening.

  • 9.88??? this a heat time in today standards

  • @raoulhery do u even know how fuckin cold it was for sprinters at these olympics?

  • @puljacina I know man, people carrying on like 9.8 is slow....at the time in 2000 this run by Mo was one of the best 100m ever....fast gun caused slow reactions by many, cold swirling winds in the Sydney evening when the sprint finals were held and Mo still ran 9.87 smh

  • @bossofalltime yes bro australia is pretty cold in september, maybe good for long distance runners but def not for sprinters!! that makes greene's victory and especially MJ's 400m victory VERY impressive..

  • Start @5:16

  • Boldon sin referencias no esta mal, si hubiera estado en alguna de las calles centrales habria habido mas competencia

  • Greene's start was not the best.

  • Collins always smiling jeje!

  • Comment removed

  • @Gauchoo1234 Kim collins still wins a lot! So cool he's still up there! ^^

  • Greene is my favorite splinter of all time. I also like boldon too cuz he was classy

  • Am I the only one who LOVE the background of the Sydney stadium during the 100m events! those flashing lights are EPIC!

  • @JamaicanTrackStar11 No I loved that when I first saw it, watching live as a young kid....hopefully London Olympic Final will be run at a time when the cameras can be seen

  • ato boldon!!

  • I must say I miss the false start.

  • @CianeticMember23 So do I, it added to the drama and plus I saw nothing wrong with the rule....everyone was allowed an individual false start and if they, individually, made another they were gone....don't see the problem with that....it was only because the IAAF was trying to make things ''TV friendly'' so it would appeal to the public

  • what a great moment!!!!!! all of them are true legends!!!

  • maurice chose to run at the right time cause 9.88 cant win u shit these days bolt or no bolt

  • @planbsk8r130 hahaha this was 11 years ago, on a cool Sydney night into -0.3m/s wind.....if Mo was at his peak today he could compete mate believe me

  • @bossofalltime k well either way in berlin 1st place (bolt) 9.58 2nd place (gay) 9.72 3rd (powell) 9.84.......

  • @planbsk8r130 No you are right if you look at it on times alone.....but as for the competitor he was, he would've brought his A-Game......hopefully Powell can run near his PR in a Championship Final

  • @bossofalltime ye your right. he runs through the whole time and powell would have gotten siked up on knowing the competitor he was and it being in a big event he would have gotten beat but i dont think it would happen to gay and bolt though

  • @planbsk8r130 I agree with you on that, that time will secure u a 4th place or something....its amazing when you look back in 90's running sub 10. was an achievment, now its a freaking norm.

  • the pre-race foolishness of Greene and Drummond irritates me to no end. such a show these clowns put on.

  • AMAZING times between 9.87 and 10.04 back in 1964 bob hayes ran 10.05 in tokyo on a peice of shit wet chewed up DIRT track, in a prelim he ripped off a 9.91 with the wind just over legal but again on same crap dirt track and before the age of 22. if hayes would have been able to run on the synthetic track and the altitude of mexico city 68' he would have run an UNGODLY time, hell even at altitude on this modern track

  • The times ran back then are like jogs these days.

  • Greene look like he was on a overdose of some substance. like a wild bull ready get out the gate. seriously, ego does not look good.

  • Drummond is just trying to focus. But Kim Collins in 7, he's got that "I'm just happy to be here" grin on his face. Contrast that with Green & Bodon licking their lips and beating their chest..........like hungry beasts.

  • Guy in lane 6 look so funny!

  • @kiayang10 u racist, culered

  • @peych4444 Wahh, wtf is up with you? He just looks super serious! I didn't say anything racist :P

  • @johnnyblack1974 and he was on drugs

  • モーリスグリーンヤバイ!

  • greene would have run a new WR if the fuckin games werent in fuckin australia where it was pretty cold in september

  • GREENE, GREENE, GREENE, GREENE!!!!!! The commentator said his name 4 times in a row.

  • I can't believe that this happen 10 years ago today.

  • @johnnyblack1974 actually in 2004, he wasnt even that quick, 2005 .. he would have won but got injured, in 2007 .. that was his best chance but he blew it and after that usain bolt appeared

  • wonder who was hit with that spike???? must hurt as hell... LMAO

  • @Djluv5 teenage male fan got it and ended up selling for 100,000

  • wtf is with buddy licking his face like that lol. He def high!

  • Maurice always cracks me up the way he licks his lips and bobs his head

  • usain great but mo is da best of all tym he was so consistant 3 world championship ,1 oylimpic, 1 wr could of broke it again in edmonton if it werent 4 his leg

  • THE GREAT MO in his prime!!! My favorite ever

  • Kim looks joyful :)

  • maurice vs usain how would that look..........not pretty at all

  • maurice greene guy looks pretti cocky ae lol

  • LMAO what happened to the guy in lane two at 5:25 like half way through he just gave up

  • @jemar200 he pulled his hamstring

  • @jemar200 he did that in 2004 olympics as well, the same guy Ghana's Aziz Zakari kmt

  • Maurice greene"s first 60 meters were amazing!!!!!!

    he was really going fast

  • 2:58 lol

  • hehe best most relaxed guy to watch in this is kim collins...hes so chillled before the race.

  • Tyson Gay beat Powell for the 1st time in the Finals @ WC in '07 & that was it for '07 ' he did'nt beat him in '08 Gay was injuried most of the yr. , his only true winning season over POWELL was '09 & everybody & their cosin was beating Powell beacuse he was injured

  • tyson beat powell on a regular basis now, but he didnt before 2007.

  • Greene could have gone much quicker than Asafa though. In 2001 world champs in edmonton, he went through 60m in 6.29secs (0.1 faster than indoor WR) then his quad blew up with 20m to go and he had to slow right down. He still ran 9.82, so that could have been a 9.70 preformance!

  • I Think his roune 2 QF 9.88 could have been a 9.75....check it out, eased up with 50 to go and there was a -5.1 wind

  • Yes you could easily be right!

  • @NOPN that was in edmonton 2001 but its well known that the wind reader was defect in the quarterfinal rounds so the -5.1 headwind is nonsense!!

  • true Usain ran 6.29 at 60m in berlin and went on to run 9.58. i just hve 2 say Maurice Greene is a graceful competitor he could win with a good or bad start and he also had quite a good last 40m .

  • @fras1812 I agree. That would have been a WR time if he didn't have tendinitis.

  • Powell has two actually since your counting relays.

  • Yes Asafa has more losses to 2 guys who can run faster than Maurice. and I also believe Greene would've run faster than he did back then if he was in his prime today but he isnt on bolts level, not even close. Greene has stated that Usain cant even run the 100m properly yet, and still has a long way to go in terms of weight training.

  • Running a lot of sub 10's means very little nowadays. you can say Greene has achieved more than Powell, I'll agree with you on that but Usain is the greatest track and field star at the age of only 23.

  • greatest 'star' sure

  • asafa has more sub 10's than Greene.

  • ok not saying this is gonna happen but what if bolt gets in a slump or an injury and never recovers? happend to many fast guys so with that said at this point he would have 3 olympic golds and 2 world championshis and im not sure how many sub 10's he has but im sure its not that many. but i dont think he will get in a slump hes well on his way to being the greatest

  • hes faster then greene but still not better but hes on his way

  • If hes faster how does that mean hes not better can you explain?

  • almost all of the time he doesnt have his head in the right place.

  • until asafa but mo the greatest. asafa just my favorite.

  • to me mo greene is still the greatest 100m runner ever he has a world record and gold metals and hes been world champ and most of all he has 50 sub 10 100 m times

  • yes, i agree with you, but i dont know why ppl thumb downed your comment?

  • What about usain bolt hes the greatest sprinter of our time much better than Greene!

  • he is american

and not all africnas are of dark skin in africa you can see many people with the complexion that greene has

  • probably not. most afro-americans aren't.

  • when and what was the value?

  • ur gay

  • tyson gay would destroy mo green

  • 9.58!!!!!!!!!! UNBELIEVEABLE

  • No, Greene did have a chance to lower his world record the next year in Edmonton at the Worlds. Greene ran a 9.82, into a headwind and pulling up at 85 meters to hold of Montgomery. From 0-80m, Greene was ahead of his World Record time of 9.79, by 0.06 and he had about 1.5 meter led on Tim at 60m, coming out of his drive phase. If Greene quad and hamstring didn't go in the final 15 meters, Greene would of ran somewhere between 9.73 to 9.75.

  • My fav sprinter of all time!

  • Green, Green, Green !

    He is so wonderful when he crosses the line; put the hands out; he is so arrogant, magic moment;

  • just for the record it spelled: greene..

  • Usain Bolt is just so much better than any other sprinter

  • so?! i dont get your point? you dont get a medal for it or even any significant recognition (apart from you obviously).

  • Aziz Zakari twice in olympic final and pulled up both times both in lane 2

  • maurice green got swagger coz he's fastest man in a millenium

  • Greene.. Greene..Greene...Greene LOL

  • oh damnnnn!!

look the perfect start of ato boldon!!!!!!!!!

    fantastic!

  • love kim collins' smile

  • pfff....amazing final

  • maurice green is fast and cool

  • lol whats up with jon drummond

  • it's weird but Zakari pulled up in this race and again in 2004 Olympics finals

  • yeah he shure did.

  • green drove out for like 50m mtr.thats crazy

  • Thompson! Nice to see a fellow Barbadian run and get a bronze (Thompson ran 9.69 ..but wind assist once).. Maurice Green ran a great race..(for a race back then) now its all about Usain

  • show me the vid of Thompson running 9.69

and which Thompson are u talkin about coz u say Barbadian...iOnly Know a Trinidadian one lol

  • Obadele Thompson. Are you thinking of Richard Thompson?

  • ohhh yeah my bad

  • Richard Thompson would have been like 14 or 15 years old at the time of this race..

I ran against Obadele when he was trying to qualify for Beijing last year.. real great guy, but he's just not as quick as he was when he was younger. Still put 5 meters on me though.

  • Anyone else see Ato play with his nuts during his introduction?

  • bailey reached the top speed ever clocked wen he won gold

  • it was until bolt equaled it they clocked 12.1m a second but bolt held the pace for 30m, i think only a few people will ever reach that speed

  • funny when you think usain bolt ran a 9.85 not even in the final and not even trying. that would have won him gold in this race, incredible

  • ha i know........look at the difference in effort!

  • Comment removed

  • no, bolt has higher top speed

  • Bolt and maurice have the same top speed for a 10m segment done in 0.82s

  • chambers probz could hav got silver

  • Thanks for posting this vid. Barbados' first and only olympic medal

  • Greene is my all time favorite.

  • I've been looking for this race forever.

  • Chambers blew the bronze at the end BIG TIME! lol

  • nice final!!!
