  • This was the Friday episode that I lost. I won during the week (I posted a video response) and made it to this Friday championship thing. It was close I remember... and I was pissed because I usually played with Leonardo or Michelangelo but they stuck me with Raphael. I know now that all four turtles were exactly the same with different skins, but at the time I thought it mattered.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • @JasonImportant Actually that's me at 3:37 with the sick parachute pants holding my hand up and counting.

  • Bring this show back!!!

  • i always thought the guy who played johnny was the guy from fullhouse that liked elvis

  • back then, they put the televisions in the wall so it appeared to be flat. Their clothes are so...vibrant. I do not miss the 90s except for fresh prince, saved by the bell, and video games

  • LOL this bro host likes to point at the screen a lot

  • I can't tell you how jealous I was of the kids who got to do the shopping spree. I sat and seethed as those kids grabbed all that (then) awesome stuff!

  • never seen this before i dont think, heard it from james nintendo nerd, james rolfe aka the angry video game nerd. thank you

  • I totally remember this episode just because of the kid who won a Neo Geo. I used to miss my bus to school all the time to catch the end of this show, so I would call my mom to tell her I was sick since I missed my bus :/

  • Finally found the show I been trying to remember for the longest time. All I had to go on was the "prize spree" stage set layout from memory lol

  • I hated the show when it turned to this....this...shit

  • Is it just me, or does the host look like David Hasselhoff?

  • Yo, that kid got a Neo Geo. I wonder if he ever managed to get any games for it. hehe. I remember this show growing up, both seasons. I remember one contestant got a GameBoy game as a consolation prize, and he told the host he didn't have a GameBoy. Dude told him to give it to a friend. On national tv. lol

  • Getting free games is always a plus!

I like how they slip in the whole "stay away from drugs & stay in school" bit at the end.

  • BATTLETOADS!!

  • Classic Concentration "an OK game"?

    It's a kick-ass game

  • Lol...hard to believe how completely corny this show was looking back at it....I remember waking up at like 6 AM to watch this before school. I also remember completely drooling at the thought of running through that game mall.

By the way, does anyone know what Terry Lee Torok is doing nowadays? Info is scarce on the internet. I dug around and found out that he was the announcer for a Tetris tournament last fall but couldn't find any more info than that.

  • Terminator 2...poor boy lol

  • Two mullets and a bowl-cut.

  • Love the PSA about keeping up on your school work at the end. A life lesson I wish I'd carried on to college.

  • dose were the days

  • If you want better sound, put the video in 720p...

  • So much funk xD

  • things like this always made me so sad when i was a kid that i had to be born in pathetic new zealand instead of a cool country :(

  • what happened to the Power Team in this season? and how sucessful was the Game Show format?

  • this show was great ..I used to watch it everyday after school in 91 , around.

  • battletoads motherfucker

  • Aw, the early 90's...Sure there was some weird fashions, but most of it I consider awesome compared to the God damn "urban" trend nowadays were everyone tries to dress like a thug and be gansta...I think the 90's were an easier time for most people. This decade has pretty much been pure hell, plain and simple. Thanks for posting! Felt good to see this again!

  • Oh my god, I thought this was just a fragmant of my imagination! I loved this show.

  • I loved this show, I even went on it as a kid. The host was so cool, he was telling us to do anything we wanted just to not break the machines. I was like "Even poop our pants" and he was like "Sure if you have to go" I think he was being nice cause my mom told wrote a note to get me on the show. I pooped my pants in school one day and she convinced these guys to have me on the show to make me feel better. After the show the host told me he pooped his pants in school too. Nice guy.

  • @dwightrapper cool story.

  • OMG I used to watch this as a kid.. do you have more of this? (with sound?)

and no, I haven't read the description, you wrote a way too long story :P

  • I actually remember this when they showed it on TV.

Was that Hayden Christensen in the orange shirt at the beginning?

  • a neo geo hahahaha that sucked

  • the guy is nuts good thing i only remembered the free games at the end and wanting to be the kid that got them TT

  • I guess these guys didn't live in a poor environment where the vol. nob was pushed into the TV.

  • he looks like hasselhuff

  • OH GAWD BATTLETOADS

  • I worshipped this show. I even went on it and competed. I got to meet Johnny Arcade (He was a total sweetheart! I mean he was seriously the NICEST guy on the planet!) I remember before we started taping he said "Do whatever you guys want as long as you don't break the machines" I jokingly said "We can even do cartwheels?" He's like sure! Then after we played (I lost waahh!) he asked me to do a cartwheel anyway. I did and then he did one backwards landing on his butt. Wonder if that clip around!

  • Ala mierda quisiera ganar un Neo Geo... así :D

  • Nintendo 64!!!! ...Wait, that wasn't even invented by then...

  • I watched this show nearly every morning before school. It was so awesome. I dreamed I could be on it and run that obstacle course. Id probably have a seizure before I got to the slide in the presents of so many games. Miss this show, thanks for keeping it this long until the net and Youtube were created. I got no problems with the sound btw. I, like few, know how to turn the volume up without bitchin'.

  • wow if this show was still on today the prizes would be a ps3 and an iphone.

    that would be sweet.

  • ha aw mannn this show is badasssss

  • why's the sound so low?

  • great memories

  • Wow! I didn't know the Hoff was on this LOL

  • Neo Geo. Awesome.

  • OH SHIT!!! i fuckin ruled this game one of the best arcade experiences of all time this fuckin game was epic!

  • Nice that they picked the LEAST interesting segment of TMNT 2 for their competition.

No, wait, what am I saying - this is "TMNT 2 at its very best"!

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 one of the best NES games I still remember the soundtracks. within 20 years old new generation people laught to see our games LOL

  • that yashica zoomtech camera is pretty sweet

  • Wow, thank you for posting this. I could not remember what this show was called and have been looking for it.

  • I remember this shit. I remember there being sound too. shits wack!

  • Jesus can we get an amp in here??

  • @IveGotNothinToSay - Why don't you people read the video description ??? It mentions the bad audio on this clip. You're lucky to even see anything at all.

  • @Grooveraider Um I did read the description; and yes, I am happy to see this video. You really should learn how to take a joke.

  • @IveGotNothinToSay - Well the joke gets old real quick after several others have repeated it.

  • @IveGotNothinToSay

Don't spoil the video by not reading the video description first, man.

  • noobs

  • WTF Big mama tama!!!! lol

  • This kid may have won a Neo Geo but there's no way he bought any games for it. I bet at the time he didn't realize or understand just how expensive the games were.

  • They should do this show again but with the newer video games. But i don't think they could pull off the cheesyness, particularly at the end of trying to cram a positive and wholesome message at the end.I wish the quality was better, it must of been from a old vhs copy so I can't complain.Yeah, I remember watching this show while I ate my cereal waiting for the school bus to arrive. Those were good memorys.I'm glad you preserved this show for future generations to watch.

  • where the fuck is the sound?

  • I remember the kid who won..he was ridiculous. He'd time himself at home.

  • Oh I get it, this video is supposed to make you feel like a gamer whom almost went deaf and could barely hear.

  • I wonder if he stuck with the skateboard.

  • I remember this show. Glad to see somebody preserved it. I always wondered why the kids never grabbed a Neo-Geo system that was so obviously there. I mean, that machine was $600 back then!

  • I don't think they let you grab the game systems. You can only win those if you find the secret prize.

  • I loved to watch this show when I was younger. It was especially great to see the power mall... I practically drooled seeing these kids running through these aisles just picking up games to take home XD. God I wished I was in their shoes, I may have had a dream of it once.

  • Neo Geo was like the PS3 in my days.....the only problem was the game cartrige was the size of an VHS tape!!! (for thoes who are younger, think of your parents' palmcorder video tapes 5 times its larger size)

  • i remember waching this episode when i was younger the one kid was sent home with a super nintendo and the other got a Neogeo and that was back when the system was new and caust like 600 bucks

  • I wanted a Super Nes so badly when this show came out. I sold my Gameboy and games and bought two SNES games because I was sure I was getting one for Christmas. I didn't get one until ONE YEAR later. I used to watch those kids getting free consoles and hate them!

  • @d21lewis lol poor motherfucker

  • That kid is now my mortal enemy...I want that Neo Geo!!!

  • omg I remember this show!!! I used to think the kids were so dam lucky !

  • I used to love this show. I remember it having sound though... it's ass playa!

  • Maybe NEXT TIME you'd READ the DESCRIPTION on the LEFT SIDE OF THE SCREEN! There I have it in FINE PRINT below.

You're lucky to even see anything!

  • tl;dr

  • why?

  • @Grooveraider y u mad bro

  • ithas sound just turn it way way up lol.

  • @rmazing

Crank up your volume on your speakers. I had to turn it all the way up just to somewhat hear it.

  • Oh man! i was just thinking about this tv show!! i loved it when i was little.

  • they should do a remake of this

  • Neo-Geo-

    Bigger, badder, better!!

    BULLSHIT!

    The good ol' days- sigh

  • lol Johnny was coked outta his mind!

  • funny you say that, my mom used to tell me that everytime I watched the show. she'd always say things like "i don't like that guy...he seems like he's on some kind of drugs or something"...good times

  • The camcorder LP's grandfather.

  • I don't remember this show but it seems cool.

  • Comment removed

  • haha dumb kids

  • This show reminds me of Crossfire commercials.

    That shit was epic!

  • This is back when high scores mattered.

And that velcro game was the best. I used to get so jealous as a kid.

And as for that NeoGeo he won, I hope he could afford the games. Those games used to cost a PS2 apiece, or something like that.

  • yep that why the console didnt last long

  • dude that kid is so lucky the neo geo costed like 500 bucks back then did it not?

  • I remember this also. Back then video games were all over basic television. Game shows, reviews&tips (one of them had some surfer talking side kick/host) cartoons, etc

  • Man, I remember the whole Velcro thing on this show! I always thought those kids were so lucky.

  • You know what's a scary thought? I remember watching this when I was younger but people who were born at the time this was aired are now around 18 years old.

    Time does fly. :/

  • Wow, nostalgia overload on my end.

  • I love how Terry obviously knows nothing about video games, but still manages to give engaging competition commentary. Bullshitting is a natural skill, you can't be taught that.

  • hahahahhaha i almost shat myself when i read this because i agree. Terry couldnt gove 2 fucks about this gaming shit he just wants to get paid ang fuck some chicks.

  • I thought the same way when I heard this guy blabber shit! LOL!

  • he said his parents are not winners, heh.

  • Man this brings back memories

  • Yeah, give the kid Terminator 2. He wasn't even old enough to see the movie since all 3 movies so far were rated R. Salvation will be as well. The only tame part of the Terminator franchise are the Sarah Connor Chronicles.

  • I used to love that show, but it always came on TV when my bitch of a step-mom got home from work. She would make me change the channel to the news.

  • Man, I wish I had a Neo Geo D:

  • is that Nitro from American Gladiators as the host lol

  • I would've came if I could run through that maze of glorius video game heave.

  • The psuedo PSA that "Terry" does at the end on the clip is all over the place. He covers like 4 or 5 topics in less than a minute.

  • I was on the episode earlier in the week. I lost to one of those kids and didn't make it to the Friday finals. DOES ANYONE HAVE THIS FULL EPISODE?

  • right be for school,in the tv.

  • if i ever won, i wouldn't have been a douche and just plaster any game on me, i'da went straight for the neo geo.

  • man i used to love this show

  • where is the sound??

  • It's there, it's just that this assclown screwed it up. Crank your speakers and the video's audio control.

  • Anyone know what Terry (the co-host in this show) does nowadays? I couldn't find much info on him online, only show he is credited for is "video power".

Stivi Paskowski (Johnny Arcade in this show), went on to act in several shows, most recently being the show "Brotherhood:".

  • I remember this show!!! Thanks!!

  • They don't make game shows this cool anymore.

  • The Neo-Geo System was so expensive back then. The console itself was like $999.99 and the games where like somehwere between $100 and $200 dollars EACH! I don't know if the price of games went down during 1992 or later, but I'll tell you one thing, that kid sure would be disappointed having to pull that much cash to get any of the games for that system.

  • The cheapest I found one for is $350 at McVans video games with original box and joypad...I should just get it and the converter to play the much cheaper MVS games

  • It debuted at $499 in the US, not $999.

Kinda like the Playstation 3, and we all know how well THAT console is doing in the market...only difference being that it's SONY, and people have this mentality that if it's either SONY or PLAYSTATION, it had to be good.

If Sony would sell dog poo and call it the Playstation 4, it would sell millions to "loyal" customers...

  • you are right... I went and made a mistake based on false information, from a magazine I use to read as a lil kid. I think it was like an advertise to buy & trade game systems... back in the early 90's and I think they may have price gouged the brand new system, and the games.

But as with technology that is so popular in japan... there wasn't much neo-geo game systems in the US at the time. Perhaps it could have been to cover insurance or what not... ??? Who knows...

  • I loved this show when I was a kid, but I dug the first incarnation better. I liked getting tips and tricks and seeing the new stuff before it came out. The game show was okay, but I always felt like they should've had a clock that you knew how much time there was left. I didn't think they gave them enough time to look for games in the mall.

I remember a couple of kids who spent time looking for the secret prize and only got one or two games.

  • god damn Johnny Arcade is a fucking douche

  • There isn't audio !!! get audio!! please!!!

  • yea i talk about this show and people are like what? i use to watch this all the time down here in miami. always thought the people at the end were stupid for not just running and grabbing everything they could. =P they be looking for titles and shit and run out of time.

  • I was just telling my friends about this at work about this show..everyone thinks its Nick Arcade or Captain N and I told em nah it had video game characters from Narc and Arch Rivals and it had Bigfoot and some tomato guy and kids playing video games als0 but no one seems to remember this was playing alot in Atlanta when I was younger and I came down to Fl one summer and nobody heard of it either! I used to love this show wish I couldve been one of those kids!!

  • I'm pretty sure that the Angry Video Game Nerd will review this show.

  • There was a lot of shows that had people play games for prizes. Video Power, Nick Arcade, Video and Arcade Top 10, the old Game Nation (before they had them playing demos).

  • to richworld1979

    Or maybe the Nostagia Critic.

  • spaceworlder- thats so funny i haven't been able to think of this show for a long time and finally i decided to try some google power and find it and i did today, also this show is alot cornier than it was when i was like ten or w/e. that's funny we has the same thoughts.

  • Wow. This show was a lot lamer than I remembered. Thanks for the jog down memory lane, though. I've had this program on the back of my mind forever, and I only found out the name of it today. :-)

  • Y pas de son

  • Thank u Grooveraider 4 uploading this. Just 4 the record, Tyrone is the character from Arch Rivals, and Max Force of NARC was on the team as well. Just passing it along.

  • REHAB or strung out

  • Lucky kids...I wonder where all them are at now.

  • Goddamn I want to go back in time, rush in there, and grab every single NES game on those shelves.

  • Fuck the NES games--I wish I could go back in time, rush in there, and grab that Neo Geo. Hell, every game that was featured on that show is dirt-cheap now--You can STILL clean up on 'em...

  • Ah, okay.

    I'm with you, then.

  • Ah, okay. I'm with you, then.

  • The way he just throws those sealed games at the end makes me cringe.

  • Lol

    Yeah.

  • he grabbed the Nash skateboard. haha little fat ass..

  • Having a game like TMNT 2 head to head is unfair since one guy can take all the points.

  • Do you think those people on the show actually knew shit about games? They're just in it for teh monehz

  • Please post old episodes. How many did they have, anyway?

  • Did you know that Video Power was taped at Kaufman Astoria Studios in Queens...the same lot where they did/do "The Cosby Show", "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego", and "Sesame Street"?

  • f00ker got a neo geo!!!

  • One great video game game show back in the day.

  • It sure was ...Nice Unicron icon btw :)

  • Thank you. Even though he was short lived in the original, he has been my favorite character. Not an Autobot, not an Decepticon, he is just Unicron lol.

  • Dude got a Neo Geo. Ta.

  • do you have more episodes of this? with better sound quality possibly?

  • I will be posting highlights of both seasons of Video Power but first I may need to purchase another video capture card because the current one I have is malfunctioning and the company isn't being such good help. Hang in there - i'll be posting more Video Power clips sooner or later. I'm here for old school gaming reference :) So don't worry. As for sound quality - lets just say on some episodes I never knew such a medium like YT would exist.

  • Be greatful you get to see anything at all :)

  • ok, ok, ok, ok, ok, ok, ok, ok, ok, ok, ok

  • I TOTALLY watched this every morning before school!

  • Today he could get all those games for $20 total.

Except that Neo Geo which is worth a fortune.

  • They should release this on DVD since they release most of the video game based-show. They should release Video Power, Starcade(my favorite), etc.

  • I got like 50 points in 3 minutes. Man, how can you can you call that kid a champion. Now i wanna get my time machine and go on the show and whoop his ass.

  • there are so many sick mullets in this video.

  • damn forgot the neo geo was the size of an x box lol

  • the sound quality went is down

  • Sorry about the volume. Unfortunately, it was taped that way on LP speed over a decade ago :(

But hey, its better than nothing :)

  • Ahh I miss this old show used to watch it from time to time on my TV back in my old country during the 90s. It would be really interesting if they brought this back, imagine how many people would join to have a chance at winning today's games and possibly a 360,PS3, or Wii...

  • It actually wouldn't be that great of a show if we made it about new gen games. Old Gen will and always will beat new gen in terms of fun. I mean, mostly due to the fact that games back then were new and not many I-can't-believe-they're-not-Asian kids existed then. Now all they can do to win is to exploit coding, akin to the SSB series.

  • How long do you have to shower to wash off your fanboy stink?

  • Just took a shower this morning. :P

  • omg!!!!!!!!11 american tv has sold out there arent any tv shows like this! that featured in the early to mid 90's era

  • Hell no there ain't no more great shows such as this... I remember always having a pen and paper to write the codes down at the end of the show...We didn't have access to the internet for code's, we relied on johnny Arcade for the codes. LOL

  • Man I remember this show too bad it come out early in the morning. You should definitely upload some of those episodes.

  • Holy shit. He wona a Neo Geo? Those ocsted $1000 back in the early 90's. Too bad I was only a few years old when this show was around though. Sucks to be born in the early 90's.

  • What's with volume?

  • Unfortunately, this episode was originally taped with the volume kinda low. Oh well, everything can't be winners. Luckily you get to see anything at all! Too bad these episodes won't be put back on the air or released onto DVD.

  • Good god! The box for the NEO-GEO was almost as big as the kid!!

  • and were all of johnny's jokes as bad as the "BRAND NEW CAR!" joke.

  • with the consolation prizes, they were always on those yellow and red circles correct?

  • i noticed that there were several eastpak bags in the mall, i'm guessing that each 1 had different games inside?

  • and i know that each 1 did have several games inside, but i mean that each backpack did not have the exact same games correct?
