  • * My name is pee on shoe *

MAN I'LL SLAP YOU IF YOU PISS ON MY SHOE!

  • please don't call it a show, its S H O, sounds a hell of alot better than show

  • '

    no no thank,,,

i dont like this ford taurus car at all

  • liers thats JUNK go GM

  • JUNK go GM

  • heh i bought one in US becos Singapore does not have it.

  • if a fucking Porsche SUV can be called "sport" this can easily, the SHO was never about peak numbers leading the field, its just an awesome car, old and new.

  • I have a 1998 black sho, silver 1995 sho and a baby blue 89 taurus. they are the best car

  • Video sucked. More of a sales presentation that didn't tell me shit or really show the cars features. At least Ford has grown a lot in quality over the past few years. The Japanese are slipping a bit.

  • frankly speaking it can't be called sport

because it's so heavy as a large SUV

it's too expensive for just a ford

    seem as another flop

  • Is the new SHO still powered by a Yamaha Engine?

  • No. It's a twin-turbocharged direct-injection developed by Ford.

  • @TheZachalope Sweet. I'm glad it's a true Ford. Though i do wish the Taurus still had a V8 option and if possible a rear wheel drive platform.

  • You copy and pasted that from Cnet's review.

  • @TuQwik4u,

Screw urself, I'm no whitey and not alot of people can afford a import and sup up there ride. And 4 the price and power u get out of this car u can't beat it. Do research on this car before calling someone a retard RETARD!

  • you guys are soo dumb. everyone is talking shit about ford. PRETTY SURE THEY DINT TAKE UR FUCKING MONEY. Atleast their doing some things right

  • so if i cant guess why you hate ford so much

    will you tell me?

  • Ford is doing something right apparently they finally pulled their heads out of their asses. Too bad GM and Chrysler haven't learned anything from their European dealings. It's nice to see an American automaker try and compete with the foreign automakers. Looks like a good car at a decent price.. I'll have to wait a cpl years and pick up a used one though..

  • He compares fuel efficiancy with a BMW sports sedan.

The American car market is getting tragically outdated.

  • bro the sho is also a sports sedan.. it makes perfect sense to compare it to another.

  • At last we HAVE a car market.

P.S. The SHO is a sports sedan.

  • watch out! this is going to be one of the fastest cars out on the road. V6 engine with V8 power, this car is going to be a nuts! What a great price tag too.

    aka The Sleeper.

  • wow, cutiesboy is really up on the market...Great price tag?...Maybe he's from Canada or something...

  • nah, I'm from the US.

  • its a Ford 500 it didnt sell so they renamed it Taurus

    ha ha ha

  • @emforty2 True. You can't rebadge bland and styling and think anyone would buy it. They did the smart thing and brought back one of their best sellers in a nice body and powerful motor with decent fuel ecomony.

  • yea quit hatin seriously, its a SEDAN haha

  • its a sedan...the name of the car is a Taurus...It's a sedan...

  • bluesky..what does a gay 47 year old sex offender and your ass have in common?

    Alot...stop hating you vagina

  • What? I'm shocked!....I'm also 48 now, so I guess you weren't talking to me...BTW that joke made NO sense...since when did being called a vagina constitute a diss?

I mean, if you called me a pussy, I'd get it....but Vagina? You're not from Iowa by any coincidence are you?

"Jimmy cracked corn and I don't have-a-job-and-gotta-watch-my-sisters-kid-and-I-got-no-job-prospects-plus-my-ugly-dog-got-fleas-and-the-ball-bearing-company-ain't hirin..."

  • What does the 2010 Ford Taurus SHO have in common with marijuana?

They both get smoked at lights!

  • hmmm, $25,000 for a base model in this economy. Would I buy it? Would you buy it?

Well good question guys, if I had a job, and I'd make something like $60,000, then this car would be somewhat affordable for me, BUT, not really worth my money.

Seriously, who is going to spend 25k on a four door front wheel drive grocery hauler?

Believe me, I'm not against Ford, I'm a mustang driver myself. It just these new cars are going iMac route, all fluffy and fuzzy, and cost an arm.

  • I would buy it, it's well equipped at that price too. And it's also bigger, and safer than the previous models.

  • DOn't forget that the $25K+ cost is only for the base Taurus. The Base price of the SHO is a shade over $38K with the $825 delivery fee.

Add to that the base SHO doesn't have the tuned suspension, the tighter turning radius electric steering, the larger (but still inadequate) brakes, and the closer ratio rear end gear.

For the base $38K, about all you get are the twin turbos, the largely front biased AWD (FWD under normal driving), and a few shiny SHO nameplates...don't even get chrome wheels...

  • Would I buy it? Yes I would in a heart beat. Not this year, but next years. Gotta work all the bugs out.

Right now the v6 Camaro is going for 30k.

38k for a twin turbo, 4 door sedan, that has a trunk, and I can pile 4 of my buddies in, that is a no brainer.

Throw another 5k, into it and have over 500hp. Perfect sleeper, gets me exicited just like the GN's did.

  • nah, I wouldn't.

If I was to dish out 40 grand on a four door grocery hauler, sleeper, and chick magnet of opposite polarity, I'd save 6 more grand and go for GT 500..

Another thing, all these car manufacturers are playing our minds. They could have given us 500 horse engine 20 years ago. But 20 years ago there was no competition as it is now.. Get a used car and mod it if you want massive amount of power.

  • Go Ford...beat Gm and Chrysler...kinda like Division 3 vs. the rest of the OEMS..

  • FORD! Not a division of

    Government

    Mortors

    GO FORD!

  • God, what a pretty car.

I had a first generation SHO ('89) and it was a great machine. Not as powerful as the last version, but it still packed a punch and was a real blast to drive.

  • anyone ever own an SHO? God its awesome. i have a 98 that had some engine work done on it, its breaking 300 Hp! thte thing is fast! cant wait til this hits, i want one!

  • It's about time Ford got its act together.

Styling is the biggest thing that is hurting ford. 2010 Taurus very nice !

  • Ide buy one if i had the money

  • Ford really has a nice lineup coming for 2010. All new cars and trucks and did it all with their own money. Way to go Ford!!!

  • Damn! Pei-wen Hsu is hot!!

  • the new taurus's are awesome.

  • Honda and Toyota eat your heart out, neither one can offer something like this for the price they are.

  • I think they are more pragmatic, and follow their recent focus group's data. This car is not on anyone's radar, giventhe uncertainty in the price of gas, or the demands of the US CAFE requirements....Do you think this car is gonna fit into the mileage requirements of CAFE? Nope!

Honda would not build a car that only has a 3 year life cycle, and neither should Ford...

  • The car acutally gets decent Gas mileage.

  • jemhiggens is right, this thing gets pretty decent gas milage. Besides, I live in Canada, and I'm looking forward to the new EPA requirements in the US, you know why?!?! Because imagine the used car market in Canada once the EPA makes it illegal for most cars in the U.S right now to be on the road!!! Sorry to say this, but, bad legislation in the US is going to be a blessing for us.

  • Doesn't the EPA legislation that you are referring to only address new vehicles manufactured or sold in The U.S.? I don't think the clunker law will pass, and that is the only way I see any mass exodus of used performance cars. Maybe i misunderstood your point.

  • Really? The wording of the article I was reading hinted that it was going to be a requirement for all vehicles on the road in the U.S. I still think it's really going to suck for Americans in a few years, there's no performance car I've heard of that gets 35.5 mpg. Let alone the 39.5 mpg by 2016. What about their requirement for 30mpg for a light truck like an F150 or something, no truck out there gets an EPA rating of 30mpg that's capable of towing anything.

  • the 39 mpg is an average requirement too, so if the OEM can make one car that gets 50 mpg, then they can also sell one that only gets 30. PLus the 50 mpg car doesn't have top be as high a production count/unit volume sales car as the 30 mpg vehicle. Check me on that, but that is how I understand the new CAFE law

  • Yeah, and the thing I don't like is the way the EPA calculates fuel efficiency. The car I drive has an EPA rating of 15mpg, but I get around 30mpg off it. So I think that's a system they need to fix before they put this in.

  • I see a little of the Ford Interceptor Concept in this taurus...does neone else agree. And i would by this over a Stang if i had the money. its about time ford made a sporty car besides the mustang!!

  • pfft mustang... I love Ford but sheesh.

They need to scrap the stang and come up with something that's actually goodto fill their sports car void.

I see what you mean though about the Interceptor in this car. It's cost-effective and would eat many, many cars on the road.

I find it more aesthetically pleasing now than a lot of the euro trash and cars Asian cars as well. It has American class.

  • I agree except about the mustang i just think it needs a major refreshment im getting kind of tired of the retro style. its time to change the retro style has run its corse but that shelby is amazing tho u gotta admit that!!

  • True, the retro style is a bit repetitive. I'm just tired of how unoriginal the stang is. The Shelby is really the only nice part about it. If they were to pull the mustang off the line for a few years and then resurrect it later on though would be a neat way to introduce a new mustang. Something to match all the popular sports coupes of what the Japanese are bringing in.

  • You have to remember that the Mustang started the retro fad. It paved the way for the new Dodges and Camaro.

  • The first American sports sedan? Um no it wasn't that was the Pontiac 6000 STE...thank you very much!!!!

  • i gota say i never liked ford taurus but throwing a twin turbo in that damn thing changed my mind.. good power from a v6

  • Pontiac along with the G8 are dead in a year. Looks like Ford wins again!

  • It's a sad day when any American brand goes under. I like Ford, but it's sad to see the demise of a brand as iconic as Pontiac. They gave us the GTO, LeMans, and Firebird. Pontiac deserves everyone's respect for pulling at America's heartstrings for 83 consecutive years. Whether you're a GM, Mopar, or Ford fan, you cannot deny sensation of sitting in a Firebird, or LeMans, the way you could almost feel the power, even when the car wasn't running. Goodbye old friend, you will die with dignity.

  • The g8 may be dead now but it soon will be replace by the new Impala rear drive it will be the g8 will camaro styling so the g8 live on thru chevy

  • You must have some information no one else does because as far as I know GM has said the G8 will NOT be moving to another division when Pontiac dies. I believe the Impala is supposed to stay W-Body until 2013. I'm not sure what the plans are after that point.

  • Well they should or a least give buick a rear drive flagship

  • I agree with the stealth that is the coolest thing on the SHO.

burn car that people dont assume it could

  • hmm, 3.16 gears, 365hp, 350 tor, 4000 pounds...

probably slightly slower than a mustang GT without the track pack, i'm going to guess 5.7ish.

put into consideration that a G8 and charger's interior materials are complete crap and don't offer AWD (something much loved here in snowy canada) this car should be very competitive.

  • Sure RWD or FWD is fun, but with a properly tuned AWD system, you can get the best of both worlds. Note the Audi's and the Subaru's and the Bugatti.

In the 2010 SHO, some engineers have spoke that its a torque vectoring system with a bias toward the rear.

I agree that the price is too high but this car is NOT immature looking! BY FAR ITS NOT!

  • Whoever told you it was "torque vectoring" was full if shit. ALso, this particular AWD, really shouldn't be called AWD. IT only distributes a max of 15% of power to the rear, unless the car is on ice, rain or otherwise sliding. ALso, the power only goes to the rear, with no further distribution to any particular wheel. This is a the weakest of AWD designs (Haldex V.4...not to be confused with Saab's XWD implementation of the Haldex v.4, which IS good)

THE AWD lags on engagement due to hydraulics

  • Where did you read about the AWD sytem?

  • I can't recall exactly. It might have been wikipedia...It's known as the Haldex verion 4, which is not to be confused with Saabs or Audi's implementation which include proprietary elements. The Saabs is called XWD if I recall, and it DOES have L-to-R power vectoring technology similar to the Acura S-AWD. From what I've read, and been told, the Taurus AWD will limit torque-steer on takeoff, and then will assist in F-R traction control on ice etc. under dry conditions, less than 15% of power is R.

  • Whether you like the car or not, it is a step in the right direction.

Now if only they put that 3.5L twin turbo engine and a 6 speed REAL manual transmission into the Fusion....

$12,000 is not that much of a jump, when you consider the fact that a base Lancer is 15 grand, and a Ralliart Lancer is pushing 30, and the top end Evo is pushing 40...

  • Also the AWD is a granny car move... Ford used to pride themselves off how well the SHO handles, it being FWD. All AWD is going to do is cut down on handling and cut down on high end power, regardless of twin turbos.

  • The 2010 Taurus SHO just seems like a very immature car. Is that V6 really worth $12,000 more than a regular Taurus, which already has more horsepower than previous SHO generations? In my opinion it's not. If you were a mid-life crsis kind of guy with that kind of loot to waste, go for it. Otherwise fuck this car. All its doing is just USING the SHO name and blasphemying the legacy. If they want it to be successful, they'll chop the price by $7k at least.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm sorry but Ford is asking far too much for what it really is. Firstly, there are no more luxury perks than a regular Taurus will get. The engine will not have the Yamaha stamp, like the last 3 generations did. The twin turbos are going to GREATLY reduce gas mileage under any pressure. I'm saying once you get on it, you'll be lucky to make 15mpg. Not to mention the SHO starts at $37,000. That's laughable. It couldn't be anymore overpriced, underwhelming, and more desperate. It won't sell...

  • DID YOU KNOW FAON1886:

Cars that are turbocharged/Superchargers actually get MORE MPG per gallon then the same motor with out? With more air going into the engine, you need less fuel!!

The mpg's also go up when you get a tune for your motor because most of the time, they would lean the fuel mixture a bit more.

  • 0-60, anyone?

  • Im thinking low mid 5s-6s It has to do better than the GXP, and Charger SRT8.

  • The Genesis, G8, Impala SS will knock this SHO out of business.

  • are u high?

  • Aww no negatives I think speed is. Well what the heck where does it stop my car is faster than your then some guy with a turbo on a civic says my car faster than yours? Then the whole stealth ordeal comes in. Man theese cars should just be enjoyed for about 1 to 2 years before everybody else gets one and then get another that looks as good. Soon as the bumper to Bumper warranty goes out. GOOD BYE ! Looks bit like camry from the front. Inside is really good! the looks will last a while.

  • whatever shit people might talk on this car, its cool as hell ford is bringin back the SHO...all wheel drive twin turbo V6, sounds like fun to me man.

  • Unlike all these other cars people are saying are way better than this, this actually is a sleeper. SRT shit does not look anything close to a stock version of that car, they look like sports cars. If people don't know about SHO, it looks like a regular sedan until it blows your doors off.

For whoever posted specs on that Acura, thats nothing special. SHO's specs are better than that acura at less cost.

I'd like to see a stick though, rather than paddles.

  • if GM wasnt going under I think they would rework the Impala SS to rape the Taurus SHO. Damn I wish they would do that.

  • The modern day Impala SS isn't called a Chevy; it's the Pontiac G8 GXP. Haha.

Like the mid-90s model and this SHO, it's a sleeper.

  • Has the SHO always been pronounced "show?" I thought it was called the "S. H. O.," not as though it were a single word.

  • I don't know why someone gave you a -1 for asking a question.

Anyway, I've heard people use both "S.H.O."

and "show". Since SHO stands for Super High Output most of my friends and I usually call them

a "Taurus Super Hoe" for grins.

  • I'll remember that one: "Taurus Super Hoe".... that's good.

  • Yes, true duel exhaust.

  • GM, you Are really DEAD!

    Impala SS is a sh*t.

    Go Ford!

  • Pontiac G8 GXP for 38K too ...?

  • I'll meet you half way, I've never been into Chevys, GM may be dead, and I don't like the new "Impala" but I'd take a 1996 Impala SS in a heart beat. (no pun intended)

  • i would rather have the fwd mtx back . the awd and auto may hurt its high speed potential . hope im wrong

  • it aint got nothing on the new cadillac cts v. motortrend says the ctsv will do 0-60 in aroind 4 seconds and 1/4 mile in like 12.3 Until someone comes out with a 4 door sports sedan that can outperform that, the cts v is the fastest 4 door sports sedan in the world. If the sho can hang with the V10 powered M5, then its a bad ass car. Not bashing the sho just saying that GM has surpassed ford and lincoln in more ways then one. They have alot of catching up to do.

  • Cadillac CTS-V

    Price Range: $35,555 - $62,775

    Body Style: Sedan

    62k vs 37k.. gtfo idiot

  • Yo bro......I wasnt comparing prices and shit. Fuck the price tag. The only reason why I put the SHO up against cars like the Bimmer M5 and the CTS V was because I hear alot about how badass the SHO is. I hear shit about how it beat this car this car this car and that car. Basically people talk about it like its the fastest thing on the road. So if its that much of a badass car then put it on the streets against the Bimmer and Caddy and run them. Price tag dont mean shit.

  • the new sho gets 365 horses and 25 on the highway. no 0-60 time has been released

  • car and driver estimates about mid 5's to 60 and low 14's at the 1/4.

  • thats it? well if thats a true estimated time then it wont beat the SRT 8 charger or challenger. Those are low 13 sec 1/4 mile cars.

  • your absolutely right...right now its just speculation, so who knows how well it performs. i dont think its compared to the challenger, maybe 300C with the Hemi V8 and Pontiac G8 of course. All 3 cars are within ticks of each other in terms of performance, but i think where ford did it right is the fuel economy which has everybody scrambling for ways to get more power AND better fuel economy. the good news is that Hennessey has already stated that they WILL tune the SHO for even more power!

  • V-6 engine!!!!....ah, i forgot the environment

  • blueskysiii....its surprising to me how many people get on here and call themselves auto "enthusiasts" get on here and talk shit without doing a lil bit of research. actually motor trend says SHO can go 0-60 n 4.8 seconds....faster than both an SRT-8 and GXP. im 27 and i want one....

  • The SRT charger and challengers along with the Pontiac G8 get 19 mpg on the highway while the Taurus gets 25 mpg. The SHO is being compared to european sports sedans like BMW/Audi and not the cam thumping G8/RT market.

  • Ford has really excelled with the new Taurus SHO. I've seen it at the car show and it looks nimble and aggressive (not like a boat......blueskyii.) In fact it's lighter than the Pontiac G8 and it Ford will be here next year unlike the Pontiac G8. GM is killing off 90% of all Pontiac models next year.

  • why do they insist on calling it the SHO (as in show)? the way i understand it is its supposed to be S-H-O for Super High Output. you don't go around pronouncing GT, SE, or GXP like words. besides, S-H-O sounds so much better than SHOw. either way, this car is awesome.

  • A stunning looking sedan, but this will obviously be far more at home taking on the Charger R/T and G8 GT rather than mid-size sports sedans.

  • This car aint gonna take on anything RT or a G8...this is a boat, that will happen to have a loud tailpipe...mid 6 seconds for 0-60....Charger RT8 does a 5.0.....This thing (at $37K base anyway) isn't gonna be happy anywhere but in the garage of a 60 year old UAW retiree.

  • A boat? The V-8 Dodge and Poncho are still expected to weigh more.

Many enthusiasts love it, not just the old ... who don't do 20" wheels and spoilers.

  • Th G8 Poncho is rwd, and does a5.3 0-60 mph, with a 13.8 1/4 mile at 101 mph. If this SHO does those numbers I'll eat your hat..Won't happen..Never. Prove me a liar Ford! I'd love it if you did. THEN it might be worth 38K...

  • I thought the Taurus gets 34mpg highway. Or is this the Taurus Sports Sadan.

  • I never heard of anything close to 34 mpg hiway....

  • open up that damn hood i wonder what this eco-boosted v6 looks like

  • Back in 94 Ford asked us SHO owners what we wanted in the next SHO, we said twin turbos, a 6 speed manual and some other stuff . Ford made the V8 auto. At the Dearborn convention we talked with Ford people about the lack of a manual, they said if you want a manual keep what you got. Look how poorly the V8 sold. 3 years and a bunch of cam failures later they shitcanned it. Now we get this, twin turbos is good but I believe the car will be too heavy to be a sporty sedan like the originals were.

  • Heavy. That's how all cars have become. The new Mustangs and Camaros are pushing 4000lbs when just 10 years ago they were around 3400-3350lbs respectively. Just a sign of the times. Everyone wants their nav systems, premium speakers, and plush interiors.

  • Come ON, Ryan! You can't give this car props! YOU hated the auto SHO so much you converted your V8 to an MTX!!!!

    -_-
