@timmya4000 No, the hitbox on the R9 is basically just the cockpit. As far as I know, there's no way to cheat in R-Type Dimensions (thank god). Got really lucky is more like it. But if I re-recorded every single time I was unhappy about something in a shoot em up then none of my videos would ever go up, because something like that always happens while I'm recording.
@pokemontotodile I'm missing something here though; this IS the original music for the end of R-Type II. R-Type and R-Type II were arcade games before they were ever ported to any home systems.
Sorry for 3 comments in one go, but I may think that the yellow ships are other R-9 ships that survived while the Bydo fed off the energy of them. Along with that, once they were free and got out, they lost power and couldn't escape the final explosion; therefore they didn't survive. Only the player (in a "newer" R-9) survived.
To the author: I just found out that the codename for this ship is the R-9C War-Head. (Originally it was "Custom'.) Plus, if you compare the original sprites of R-Type with the yellow-canopy R-9 fighters, they are the exact same sprites (with palette change, of course). This means that the trapped R-9s are in fact ships that originally went on the mission before your craft did. (Probably the first R-9C of its kind out there)
Man, with this and R-Type Command, I hope for more R-Type titles in the near future. With all the HD technology and such, they can make a really awesome R-Type. I hope they make another R-Type Tactics, I love that game.
why in the 3d version of the game r-type 2 the four ships do not disintegrate they just explode

@timmya4000 Like I said, there are no cheat codes in Dimensions. Take that as you will.

I absolutely FUCKING HATE THIS STAGE! Nice job overall.
Yoshirockdude 5 months ago
@Yoshirockdude It is rough because it is almost all twitch gameplay as opposed to memorization. Yeah, pretty hard in my opinion.

LOL that sucks! They help you out, then the blast kills them anyway. That's like that one game, where you beat it, and earth is destroyed.

They should've at least ported this to the PlayStation 2.

@pokemontotodile But this is the original arcade music - it is undeniably epic in its own right.

@TamuroBros321 Exactly, So, The Yellow ones were the first, I think this is how they got trapped. one by one, the bydo empire caught it.
ScorpianViper 1 year ago
Same thought here, then again, they probably where bydo by then and may just have wanted to die.

Nice work. You are obviously pro! Do you know how to put it in 3D? It'll look awesome (but may disrupt gameplay for you).
TamuroBros321 3 years ago
Never mind about the "3D" question - That's the "Crazy" camera angle that is optional, I just found out also.

To 10191927: So you like the change of pace by the new R-Type Command? (Command was the international name, Tactics was the Japanese name.)
TamuroBros321 3 years ago
No no, Tactics is the UK name as well.

It's funny how the achievement box pops up in the middle of a firefight.
