After hearing his speech I have more respect of Mr. Marcos.. I feels like he put his nation into a respectable nation with dignity and courage. I wasn't born yet during this period speaking along side with Pres. Reagan but I thought Filipinos during Marcos has been highly respected in the other courtries..one thing though Mr. Marcos is really smart president...

yeah... the USA was also proud of Ferdinand Marcos because he was the USA's bitch, and in turn, the entire Filipino Nation was the USA's bitch. The sad reality is that through this and other colonizations, the richest, naturally resourced country in the entire Asia-Pacific is one of the poorest and most corrupt. The biggest source of GNP is the export of service workers. Sure, development started with Marcos but that was the end of hope for the Filipino people for the next century. Terribly sad.

President Reagan and Marcos were great friends. President Marcos built a mansion for Mr. Reagan. I wonderered what happen to that house now.

Philippines military at that time was strong but now its the weakest in the region. Hope Mr. Aquino can bring the strength of the military back where it should.
