I like this version of a sadly overlooked song Elton may even have forgotten amongst all his hit songs! But while I think the one on "Honky Chateau" was too slow, I think this is too fast. I'd prefer a happy middle tempo, to give the lyrics a chance to shine as well. During this period of recording (I *think*) Elton was still going through his cocaine-addicted weird phase. A great musician and songwriter! Thanks for posting this- I can't imagine where you found it!
I disagree with the other commenters. I prefer the slower version. Being a slave is not something to be all hyped up and excited about. Thanks for letting me share my opinion.

@wingseclipsed Actually, he recorded this in 1971. He was an addict from 1975-1990.

This was the original version but was deemed to fast so it was slowed down......this is alot better

I LOVE this version of Slave! I like it better than the original version, I love Dee's bass and Davey's distorted guitars!
