@bigbad302 Let me guess.................... you would probably put some 14" weld drag stars on it. Maybe 4" wide up front and 7" on the back. Thereby making handle so bad that a simple curve at less than the speed limit would only result in massive understeer. I'm not building a drag car, I'm building a road car. If everybody customized cars exactly the same way car shows would get kind of boring.
@undertow427 no 15x8 or 15x8 1/2 american racing torq thrusts on front 15x10s on the rear 50 or 60 series on front 50 series on the rear duh not no sissy 14 by 4 or sissy 14x7 that would be just as bad as those dip stick box wheels p/s add some good home done stuff it would lean and slide just a lil ok thats my teachin for the day
@bigbad302 Well if you had looked at all the Galaxie does have 8.5" up front and 10" in the rear but they aren't an archaic 15" wheel. (15" wheels don't even fit around the brakes on the front) I've seen way a lot cars done exactly like you describe. I can respect a well done classic but that just isn't my style. I think your hatred for the wheels actually makes me like them more. I like the way my car looks, and I might even like a car you were building. I like unique cars built by the owner.
I forgot to ask ya where ya got the decals for that thing? I work for a beer distributor, and they sell our old vans off for about 2 grand each once they're about 10 years old. I was thinking about building my own while restoring one of these beer vans, but thats where I come into the problem of not knowing the first place to turn to for the decals. Did ya the MM logo's on the sides or are they stickers or what?
A friend of ours owns a graphics business, he did the letters in vinyl. Everything else is paint. Practically any graphics place can do custom stuff for you. I've had race cars and bikes numbered and lettered up, so if you know anyone who races just ask who did their graphics.
Ah, I gotcha. Yeah, I actually buy my used tires from a guy who races, so I'm sure he may know. I also know of a few spots who make custom signs and stickers, so I'll check into that also. I know what ya mean about a crowed though. I've been wanting a 68 Charger to convert to a General Lee for ages. I know its a 69, but 68's and 70's were also used in the show for certain shots. I just love the 68 personally, but I know people who have these cars, so I know all about the attention. Its crazy.
Now that......is bitchin! How many babes do ya get with that van? I'm sure you'll have some lookers once that car is totally maxed out, but what about the van? Seriously, I bet ya get some chicks looking at it and asking all sorts of questions huh? Nevertheless, I'm a big muscle car enthusiest, but I gotta say...I like the van a lot more than the car.
The van does get a LOT of attention, it's actually hard to take it places without people gathering around it. They want to sit in it, take pictures, and ask questions, it's kind of a crowd magnet.
Months of body work followed by two days of painting. It wasn't that hard, you just have to know your paint products and have a plan before you start.

Sim00110 11 months ago
@Sim00110 No it had 352 FE big block. The FE's came in a lot of sizes 332, 352, 360, 390, 391, 406, 410, 427, 462, and probably a few I'm forgetting.
undertow427 11 months ago
@undertow427 Yeah they were industrial motors, the walls of the block were very thick, it was almost impossible to kill them.
