The Lord Jesus Christ was liberal. He was viewed by the conservative establishment of His time; the Sadducees, and the Pharisees, as a dangerous radical threat to their intrenched power.
Yes, I seem to remember that part in the gospel where Jesus was advocating abortion and gay marriage. It was right before his "God damn Judea" speech. Besides, he was a good man, a lawyer; not some dirty blue collar slob like a plumber or carpenter.
Jesus did condemn the established order for neglecting the greater things of the law such as justice and mercy in favor of more minor issues. He also hung out with prostitutes and treated women with dignity. He also supported paying taxes and told rich people that it would be nearly impossible for them to be saved unless they give away their possessions. And he also sat down at the table with foreign enemies (the samaritans).
Republicans can take it - Dems on the other hand are no good at constructive criticism. They'd rather just bend over and take it. That's why they like to watch Bend Overmann on MSNBC.
it's rather entertaining to see them destroy themselves from the inside out. it's time for a new party that breaks from the neo-cons and embraces traditional conservative values, and ron paul should be the leader.
I would have voted for Romney in a heartbeat. I would have voted for McCain had Romney been his VP.I voted for Obama and will again in 2012 unless Romney is the GOP candidate.
as a protest vote I would urge you to vote ron paul. I have high hopes that romney will run and win in 2012 but if not do not vote Obama, vote ron paul. Its pathetic that the GOP said "we need to get past ronald reagan". I just hope that the GOP collapses so we could actually build a conservative party, the GOP is a joke and a half.
Republicans are a bunch of ignorant malcontents, who can be worked into a frenzy about anything. They simply can't live with the reality that they lost the election so badly. Their desperation has lead them to look increasingly insane. Their divorce from reality and retreat into the political netherland of subjective hate and fear, runs counter to the direction of the conciousness of our country. These Palinesque optics will lead them to a major defeat in 2010 and 2012. Life is beautiful.
All liberals ever do is point fingers and put the blame away from themselves while they sit idly and drive the nation into the ground with their socialist ideals
All neocons ever do is point fingers and put the blame away from themselves while they sit idly and drive the nation into the ground with their fascist ideals
Big surprise...Right wingers are douchebags and would eat their young if it benefits them...Not only that he is right about Romney...They fucked Romney and Paul so what do they expect? I love how they are all about them now...
Yep and his ideology is also why republicans are losing election after election. Get live with him can't live without him. In other words you GOPers are fucked :D
That's so touching... I promise you this Timmy, with all my heart, I will do everything I can to exercise that freedom you have so courageously given me and we have so generously inherited from this great nation Ronald Reagan founded.
To ipbalkenedende: Please note that Bush was a neo conservative, which is a Republican with some LIBERAL values. Don't bail out the corporations that were greedy, let them fail. We cannot punish people who practice bad business.
Nope Bush was a modern conservative, he was EXACTLY what Reagan was. Huge deficit spending, cutting taxes, showering private entities with federal money (think medicaid expansion, no bids) and making every effort to cut efficiencies from the system (wouldn't want govt to work would you?) promote incompetence in the fed (heckuva job Brownie! Well this was unique to Bush), pander to the religious right, huge defense spending, and appealing to anti-intellectualism.
Not to mention having to bail out large sections of the financial systems after your own deregulation had turned it into rubble, for Reagan this was savings and loans and for Bush pretty much everything. Tough it should be noted Bush had nothing to deregulate it was done by his predecessors Ronald Reagan and the republican congress with consent from Clinton.
Economic bubbles have little to do with regulation and everything to do with interest rates. It's a shame that the truth is too simple for many people to grasp; it's much more fun to fight over ideological differences. In case this isn't clear enough: the problem is the Federal Reserve system, which neither Republicans nor Democrats control.
We are in $11 trillion dollars in debt. Obama will not be helping that by adding more debt onto us (or our children that is) with his plans of adding trillions of more money onto social programs. Why does the government have to make me pay for things that I don't approve of? In fact, government should be restricted to of doing this type of shit becacuse this is exactly what happens. Someone is going to have to pay for it, get an ultra-conservative in this white house i.e. Ron Paul. Look him up
Who gave us our debt?? The fucking republicans. Clinton cut the deficit in halph left with a huge surplus and look what happen during the Bush years. They destroyed everything, and left the nation in a rubble fighting a useless war with no purpose, a Vice President who actually shot a man in the face during duck hunting.. Republicans doesn`t know shit. They screwed our country.

well his first point that mitt los because he flip flopped on abortion is totally wrong since Mccain was also pro choice before pandering to pro lifer's when it suited him. And yes republicans are completely intolerant, gimmie a break who even disputes that, its the party of racist white good ol boys.
wow and it's because of that last sentence why you Liberals HONESTLY wonder why can't Conservatives see it your way. You automatically generalize all of us.
Listen i think that what you said was eloquent in stating Clintons role in benefiting the economy and Im glad to hear that you agree with democrats on social issues but I just want to make it clear that adultery is an issue on both sides of the aisle especially now with Sanford, Ensign, Vitter, Craig, etc (all republican members of congress who committed even worse acts of adultery) I mean Sanford abandoned his duties of Governor, without a word to his staff, to be with his mistress in Argentina
I'm really tired of everyone blaming republicans for this mess. Blame Bush and heres why: HE WAS A TERRIBLE EXAMPLE AS A REPUBLICAN! LOOK AT WHAT REPUBLICANS STAND FOR and then looks at his actions PRIME example. From an economic standpoint: Bush Spent Money (Conservatives/Republicans SAVE MONEY) Thats just one example, the truth is Bush was a terrible example as a Republican. But of course nobody knows it since it seems most people just generalize are reps as racist idiots.
You should look at historic data.. Republicans have never saved money, Reagan, Bush Sr and Bush Jr put us in a huge budget deficit at the end of their terms.
Dude that's only 3 conservatives and by the by Reagan saved an economy crisis. Bush sr help stop the cold war and it's not all of Bush Sr.'s fault for the economy, he lost to Bill because of that crap and thus once again a Democrat steps and gets all the credit for stepping in and waiting because at the time of the election the economy practically fixed itself of 91 or 92 i don't remember. There have been at least 3 bad Liberals I can think of off the top of my head. I would name them but imout
that's 20 years of governance doood! what other evidence do you need?
right.. the economy fixes itself everytime a democrat wins the election and it's just bad luck when the republican does.. your views cannot be more biased
I feel I'm not biased at all I do agree with Liberals often on certain issues like: Abortion, social security and all that jazz. And yes its true if you look back far enough Clinton got in office at the nick of time to sit for 4 months and BAM the economy is cool. Though thankfully he toke advantage of that opportunity and did get us out of debt. But then disgraced our country to the rest of the world by lying to Congress and committing adultery.
you might feel whatever makes you more comfortable, but you are def. biased.
oh.. and I think we were more disgraced by torturing people don't you think? I mean that is something the government did as a whole and put its rubber stamp on it... it doesn't even compare to the actions of one person who after all harmed none outside of his own family.
HONESTLY... Romney may have beaten Obama, may have, I voted for Obama but i was fearful of Romney I thought he was better than McCain but Steele basically did nothing BUT TELL THE TRUTH.. Nobody wants these flipflopping candidates anymore and he did flip flop on a couple issues early when i thought he was gonna blow the other REP candidates out the water
Hopefully. I mean they keep saying how bad things will turn out if the country is run by Demos, but lets see. The repubs had it for 8 and fucked stuff up, lets see if the demos can do better.
Republicans can't say bad things about other Republicans? hmm. That's weird. I thought you were supposed to say something when you disagreed with the way somebody does something.
He won't destroy Im a Republican dude, he won't. and you gotta admit Bush was a terrible example as Republican. It's because of him people like me suffer for saying I'm a Republican.
I don't see what the big deal is... The democrat party was in a similar position after Kerry lost, then they gained strength. I am sure Republicans will do the same.
Republicans can make as many mistakes as they want while they're down, that won't matter if we screw up. The only way to keep the GOP away from the WH so that they don't ruin the country is to hold Democrats accountable so that they dont take things for granted now that we put them in power. The GOP was in a similar position in the mid 70's and they came back strong, and were in control of the WH for 20 of the last 28 years.
I agree with the latter, not the former. The Republican party is, unfortunately, still alive due to the enormous amounts of uneducated people in this country. Fix that and things will change.... in about a century.
god, there's nothing funnier than liberals giving advice to conservatives on how to save their party--advice that amounts to nothing more than "be more liberal". LOL
Didn't the conservatives try that when they put up McCain for Pres? Yeah, that worked fantastically...
Logic would say to the Conservatives: what ever the media and liberals tell you to do to fix your party...do the exact opposite.
Yeah true, like when all the liberals bagged McCain for selecting Palin as VP. He did the opposite of what they said by keeping her and look how well that went...
It wasn't any of that, Mitt was the winner if not for huge colusion in WV and FL by the other two. hahahaha good job with that one boys. McCain 'Romney...symbol of inclusivness' hahhaha
Looks like Dick Cheney to me. What was so great about a man who give us three times more debt than all previous presidents combined, ran criminal operations in South America (or was too incompetent to know about them) and gave us the genius idea of Wall Street deregulation? Really he made nice speeches, good sense of humor and aside from that he was a big bag of suck!
You should hurry up to enjoy. The GOP is dead now, just a few left to hate. What will rise from the ashes to confront liberalism is anyone's guess right now. Something will certainly rise up to oppose liberalism. There is no form, no leadership yet, but the "Tax Revolts" go on and will have an impact to slow down liberal socialism. Can't do much to change things with no money. Watch California as it goes down the tubes this summer. California will be the first to become FERAL.
The gop picked steele because they think Barack Obama was elected simply because he's black. The gop is far too stupid to exercise good judgment, just look what they did to America in just 8 years. These idiots are all fighting each other since they are all guilty of incompetence, yet not a single one of them can admit it, the Trademark of the gop. The gop morons are still trying to say bush kept us safe, right, except for the worst attack on American soil in our history. RIP gop!
As long as we're able to watch the GOP die a nice, swift death while the rest of us get to laugh at their backwards, nonsensical, anti-science, anti-freedom, anti-progressive ideology, we'll all have a good laugh and a good time as humanity is no longer held back by such a stupid, stupid, stupid group of people. It'd be nice for another Democratic-type party to rise out of the GOP's ashes; two Liberal parties as the main parties of the US!, Humanity will finally advance!, Religion=Dead; Science
Too true. They really don't understand that it isn't simply trotting out a minority to seem diverse, it's actually speaking and making stands in favor of diversity that demonstrate the underlying values of a party.
Currently 98% of the black population supports Obama and as a result Democrats. Republicans would be stupid to not at least try to remedy this situation. They just chose to do so in a blatantly obvious and ineffective way.
And second point, on September 11, 2001 the United States was largely working under the national security policies of the Clinton Administration. It's a slippery slope trying to put Bush at fault for 9/11.
"It's a slippery slope trying to put Bush at fault for 9/11."
That's why it should only be done when Bushies try to take credit for keeping Americans safe. Leaving aside the fact that 5000 of them died since 9/11 on foreign soil 9/11 happened almost a year in on their watch. As much as they like the world to forget it.
The gop has been eroding since 2001, down from 42% of Americans, to just 21%. It won't make any difference if they picked up some minority voters, since their base, of illiterate southern males, is decreasing day by day. The gop is done.
"It's a slippery slope trying to put Bush at fault for 9/11."
No, bush is responsible. He didn't use a single piece of Clinton or Clarke's recommendations to go after al Qaeda, and instead, dismantled the CIA unit tasked with getting bin Laden

I was surprised that Steele said that about Romney. I thought Romney was the best chance for the GOP in 2012.
Newt: Obsolete
Palin: Moron
Jindal: Skin is too dark for the GOP
Huntsman: Said the GOP should become more moderate socially (i.e. gay marriage) and is thus suicidal in that respect.
Huckabee: Too far right on social issues (i.e. Talking about making the Constitution become God's law or something like that).
Romney, with his economic bona fides was the front runner, I thought.

IAMD3492 2 years ago
that's 20 years of governance doood! what other evidence do you need?
right.. the economy fixes itself everytime a democrat wins the election and it's just bad luck when the republican does.. your views cannot be more biased
s4life 2 years ago
I feel I'm not biased at all I do agree with Liberals often on certain issues like: Abortion, social security and all that jazz. And yes its true if you look back far enough Clinton got in office at the nick of time to sit for 4 months and BAM the economy is cool. Though thankfully he toke advantage of that opportunity and did get us out of debt. But then disgraced our country to the rest of the world by lying to Congress and committing adultery.
IAMD3492 2 years ago
you might feel whatever makes you more comfortable, but you are def. biased.
oh.. and I think we were more disgraced by torturing people don't you think? I mean that is something the government did as a whole and put its rubber stamp on it... it doesn't even compare to the actions of one person who after all harmed none outside of his own family.

HONESTLY... Romney may have beaten Obama, may have, I voted for Obama but i was fearful of Romney I thought he was better than McCain but Steele basically did nothing BUT TELL THE TRUTH.. Nobody wants these flipflopping candidates anymore and he did flip flop on a couple issues early when i thought he was gonna blow the other REP candidates out the water

I'm sorry but FOX makes the Republicans look racist.
Having a Black Man as the chair of the GOP is like nominating a colored man for the KKK.

Why exactly feel that Republicans are racist? I hear liberals making this claim constantly but nobody is ever able to give clarity.

God damn I'm enjoying this so intensely. I wan't to sincerely thank the republican party for making this spectacle possible.
ipbalkenende 2 years ago

RIP gop!
mccainisthrough 2 years ago 6
As long as we're able to watch the GOP die a nice, swift death while the rest of us get to laugh at their backwards, nonsensical, anti-science, anti-freedom, anti-progressive ideology, we'll all have a good laugh and a good time as humanity is no longer held back by such a stupid, stupid, stupid group of people. It'd be nice for another Democratic-type party to rise out of the GOP's ashes; two Liberal parties as the main parties of the US!, Humanity will finally advance!, Religion=Dead; Science
TAz69x 2 years ago 3
Awesome comment. Reasonable, intelligent and cogent, the exact opposite of the gop! Thabnks for the follow up.
mccainisthrough 2 years ago 2
Too true. They really don't understand that it isn't simply trotting out a minority to seem diverse, it's actually speaking and making stands in favor of diversity that demonstrate the underlying values of a party.
cornbreadjunkie 2 years ago
Just to play devil's advocate here.
Sugadaddy774 2 years ago
"It's a slippery slope trying to put Bush at fault for 9/11."
That's why it should only be done when Bushies try to take credit for keeping Americans safe. Leaving aside the fact that 5000 of them died since 9/11 on foreign soil 9/11 happened almost a year in on their watch. As much as they like the world to forget it.
ipbalkenende 2 years ago
Sugadaddy774:
The gop has been eroding since 2001, down from 42% of Americans, to just 21%. It won't make any difference if they picked up some minority voters, since their base, of illiterate southern males, is decreasing day by day. The gop is done.
"It's a slippery slope trying to put Bush at fault for 9/11."
No, bush is responsible. He didn't use a single piece of Clinton or Clarke's recommendations to go after al Qaeda, and instead, dismantled the CIA unit tasked with getting bin Laden
