@eyewarnedyou They start to get real dirty and lose it's stickiness... And remember if you drop it on the floor, Be sure to pick the rocks out of the sections if you can. Or get a knife and completely cut off the area that touched the floor.
If you don't get all of the crap out completely you run the risk of scratching your paint the next time you use it... some guys go far as throwing the whole thing out. I personally can't see tossing $40 out the window. Be cool!
@HowToPaintYourCar buy in bulk if your serious about claybar, and even if u just buy those wal-mart kits, you can cut it in half first. you dont need a huge claybar. cheaper solution to that detailing spray is some dawn dishwashing soap mixed with water. a tablespoon in a large spray bottle works wonder, plus it'll help degrease the car for a new coat of sealer or wax.
@HowToPaintYourCar NP! your course is great btw! oh and, one last tip, you can just use a tablespoon of your car wash instead of dawn dish soap if you dont wanna degrease. i degrease every time i wash/clay so i prefer the dish soap. much much cheaper than that detailing spray.

@Munky332 Awesome tip buddy! I like the dish soap idea. Frankly, all you need is a slippery surface. Thanks man!
