The thylacine was the cultural symbol of Australia, and its death is a great shame to the people of Australia. Tigers are the national animals of many different countries, their extinction would cause adverse effects. Also, predators such as the tigers are keystone species, they are important for the support of an entire ecosystem, their extinction would cause the unbalance of entire ecosystem.

Well, why are there fences and cages? The reason is simple. These are South China Tigers, and they are now in South Africa, where they are considered Alien species, if they are allowed to roamed freely, they will compete with native wildlife and this may endanger them or the indigenious species. Zoos are also involved in studbook programs which plans to breed endangered species in captivity to ensure their survival. Of course there are zoos which only cares about profit, but not all of them have the same ideology.

And also, our project aims to REWILD south china tigers, that is to release them back into the wild, so that they do not need in live in "cages", so why are you opposing us?

We are playing with this tiger cub, due to the fact that it was the only cub of its litter, therefore we must stimulate the play behavior it is supposed to have with its siblings to facillitate the developing of hunting skills.

Anyway, this isn't a pet. Yes, it will be sent back to China for release after the establishment of the Chinese Tiger Pilot Reserve in China in the future. Junior will also go through the same rewilding training as other tigers, and will not be interacting with humans when he grows older.

She mentions that Junior was much more active and playful compared to other Siberian or bengal tiger cubs she has ever reared in the past. Let's wish that the reason for this is because Cathay and Tigerwoods passed on their hunting skills to Junior!
