Why is it that everytime I look at a domestic video an import tuner starts talking about a fucking Supra? There's no Supra in this video. How much time and money was spent making this Vette into a 800+HP beast? ALOT! I'm tired of import fuckers thinking getting these HP numbers is easy. @TrowVr01 man i <3 z06. i own a 2003 Z and i have ls4 cam,heads,pullies, full x pipe exaust, and intake..i only push about 485hp. ive spent about 5k. for 10 k i can get a lpe stage two for 10 k pushing 800+ hp. so that = 15k. but please no dick sucking is required =) just thought you should know...and that includes tuning.
UM ... twin turbo???? don't think so!!! 427? probably. 1000hp??? no, read the dyno, it peaks out at about 875 ... that is ALOT of difference when HP gets that high.
IF it was twin turboed, where are they? that is a STOCK CAI functional through the hood, NOT a boost tube from an intercooler...anybody with half a brain knows that...anybody can see it too

The ONLY thing I remember the Supra beating the Corvette in was fuel economy, same for that Mitsu 3000GT and the ONLY reason it got better gas mileage was because the Supra spent 50% of the time broke down on the shoulder. Can't use any gas if you don't haul any ass. :~D
In 1993 it beat the LT1 corvette skidpad, braking, 1/4 mile, fuel economy and costed exactly the same. And it did not spend more time on the shoulder than a corvette. The LT1 has a worse record of reliability than a 2JZ. Chevy didn't get it right until the LS1.

Interesting i've seen 0-60 in the high 4's to low 5's for the supra and low fives for the c4. However the base price for a supra in 93 was over 50k making it as expensive or more than the grand sports and zr-1, both of which were much improved vettes to the base, and better competition to the supra. Also curious you chose to compete the newly redesigned supra to a mid-model life c4, not the c5, which was also produced with the 2jz and was much improved. late response I know
@gotmatt2 The Supra TT didn't run for 50,000 unless you bought the fully optioned out Supra. Supra TTs ran for 45,000 back in the day. The C5 was only around for 1 year of the Supra's production in the US which was 98.
The C5 was produced in 97 & 98(2002 elsewhere), so two years. My point was the c4 was around for like 13 years and getting a bit old/long in the tooth. The grand sport and zr-1 were the only real updated vettes during that period. Otherwise they were fairly low powered and badly needed the refreshing. The price point is still valid, you could have bought either of those models for that price. The supras a good car but should be compared to the model in it's relative $ spectrum was my point.
@gotmatt2 The only reason I said up until 98 was because Supra was JDM only in 1998-2002. Pre-2003 I would agree with you on that until Evos, STis, the IS-F and the R35 GT-R were introduced in the states.
thought 98 was still U.S. also. Yeah it's to bad that the current wave of japanese cars are moving away from driver involvement for a little better performance. Love manuals and the awd is cool but I like the subie because it's less computer-slower-but at least the driver requires skill. The ls-f is a nice car but i'd take the usability of the awd and four doors and way cheaper price of a used evo or sti. That said for a pure rush I love the corvette in spite of all those reasons.
I am an American Muscle fan all the way. But the Supra is also turbo charged versus the corvette's are naturally aspirated. Corvette has a V8, wider tires, heaver engine and tranny, and a few other odds and ends. Supra has the corvette in the corners and the corvette has the supra on the highway.
Well lets consider that the supra was built in the 90s and at the time a turbo supra would beat a corvette. I've raced a lot of C5 and older vettes and ZO6s and have beaten most of them in my 3000GT VR4. Now the C6 is different, its a much better car overall. I agree, a lot of stupid ass japanese car lovers will say a supra is the shit... its a nice car but cant compete with the modern corvette. If toyota were to release that V10 supra then it would probably beat everything but the ZR1.

as a GM fan, i even like supras, but those powerbands suck with such huge turbos/boost you have to run to make the power, not that this powerband looks great, but better, to a point. any REAL car fan can appreciate anything thats fast, whether it be ford GM mopar, import, whatever.

this zo6 is a beaut!...but lets be honest guys, the first corvette in history that has been able to corner with the pros is the ZR1, even out turning the new GT-R!...and even so, at a pricetag of over 115 grand, its not somthing most people can afford...and EVERY corvette stock for stock is faster on the strip than a jap car....but with the money they saved by not buying a 70 grand car...they may very well keep up....just be put things into perspective.
the z06 and c6 all handle very well for their price ranges, they keep up with the 911s and ferraris, the C5 did well too
as for the ZR1, if you mean "corner with the pros", seems a little understated as it posted the fastest time on the nurburgring
takling about value and modification, look at what the vette did with some extra money and how much extra performance they gained, it outperforms cars that cost 3 to even 10-15 times as much

I didn't say a 320HP stock twin turbo Supra. I said a 1000HP Supra. Depends on the setup, but the Vette would probably be faster off the line and then get caught/passed around the 1/8 mile.

yo, hilljack, no, I do NOT think Supra Dominates. In fact, I outran one today in my diesel truck that runs mid 12s in the 1/4. I am simply stating the facts aftermarket vs. aftermarket the Supra is quicker than the Corvette. Of course there are other factors involved such as driver, how much money is involved, etc. 1000hp is easier to achieve in a Supra than a late model Vette....and cheaper. Like I said, I am no fan of Supras!!
the ford gt had boost from the factory so it makes sense it doesn't need rebuilt first. try putting more than 7psi to an engine not set up for it and see how well it holds up. Also i think 40k pays for the lingenfelter badges, your other 23k makes it go fast.
You can pick up a C6 Z06 for under $60k, the lingenfelter package costs about $63k. The cheapest you're going to find a Ford GT for is $150k, plus $35k for the heffner build. So the fact that the c6 Z06 needs an engine rebuild is kind of irrelevant, given the large price gap. That said, I think I'd prefer the FGT because of its exotic look and future value (apreciation). Then again, the Z06 is probably more comfortable. Oh well, I don't have $100k+ just like everyone else, so just enjoy the vid.

If you knew anything about cars you would know that the Ultima GTR isn't even a production car. It's a kit car, and you can put any engine, suspension, pretty much ANYTHINg in the kit you want as long as it fits in the shell.

as a GM fan, i even like supras, but those powerbands suck with such huge turbos/boost you have to run to make the power, not that this powerband looks great, but better, to a point. any REAL car fan can appreciate anything thats fast, whether it be ford GM mopar, import, whatever.

this zo6 is a beaut!...but lets be honest guys, the first corvette in history that has been able to corner with the pros is the ZR1, even out turning the new GT-R!...and even so, at a pricetag of over 115 grand, its not somthing most people can afford...and EVERY corvette stock for stock is faster on the strip than a jap car....but with the money they saved by not buying a 70 grand car...they may very well keep up....just be put things into perspective.

the z06 and c6 all handle very well for their price ranges, they keep up with the 911s and ferraris, the C5 did well too
as for the ZR1, if you mean "corner with the pros", seems a little understated as it posted the fastest time on the nurburgring
takling about value and modification, look at what the vette did with some extra money and how much extra performance they gained, it outperforms cars that cost 3 to even 10-15 times as much

I didn't say a 320HP stock twin turbo Supra. I said a 1000HP Supra. Depends on the setup, but the Vette would probably be faster off the line and then get caught/passed around the 1/8 mile.

I've seen 900hp Supra's get outran at ZMAX by NA big blocks. Also this car is street legal all the way with 800+RWHP.Most cars I've seen with that much power have been track only cars, since that much power is almost useless on shitty public roads. It's all about the amount of money and time your willing to put into a car.

yo, hilljack, no, I do NOT think Supra Dominates. In fact, I outran one today in my diesel truck that runs mid 12s in the 1/4. I am simply stating the facts aftermarket vs. aftermarket the Supra is quicker than the Corvette. Of course there are other factors involved such as driver, how much money is involved, etc. 1000hp is easier to achieve in a Supra than a late model Vette....and cheaper. Like I said, I am no fan of Supras!!

the ford gt had boost from the factory so it makes sense it doesn't need rebuilt first. try putting more than 7psi to an engine not set up for it and see how well it holds up. Also i think 40k pays for the lingenfelter badges, your other 23k makes it go fast.

You can pick up a C6 Z06 for under $60k, the lingenfelter package costs about $63k. The cheapest you're going to find a Ford GT for is $150k, plus $35k for the heffner build. So the fact that the c6 Z06 needs an engine rebuild is kind of irrelevant, given the large price gap. That said, I think I'd prefer the FGT because of its exotic look and future value (apreciation). Then again, the Z06 is probably more comfortable. Oh well, I don't have $100k+ just like everyone else, so just enjoy the vid.

it would be SOOOO much cheaper to do your self we built the motor in my buddy's 1800hp 8.20 68 camaro for only about 25,000 or so and it isn't boosted or anything, it's a bunch cheaper to go with boost or nitrous to help you out too $63,000 seems like a rip off

If you knew anything about cars you would know that the Ultima GTR isn't even a production car. It's a kit car, and you can put any engine, suspension, pretty much ANYTHINg in the kit you want as long as it fits in the shell.
If you are talking about rare cars like the Ultima then the Sledgehammer holds the record. But as of now the Veyron is the fastest production car.

That means it's not in full production it's limited and they need to use other car parts, that doesn't qualify as a production road car. The ultima is NOT a production car, I've helped put one together, and put a Boss 3.8L Mustang engine in it from Austrailia.
