Regarding the Codec thing - you could just get Any Video Converter and convert all the sources to the same format (I always use x264 MP4) - but that's because my camera uses a different framerate to everything else.

I've been using GoldWave alongside Audacity for damn near 5 years and I never knew about the MegaDrive ROM thing.

Eitherway, I'm no pooper, but the only problem I have with Vegas 8 is that Pan and Crop are put together. That and my computer can only just run it (but it has to be the only program open and rendering takes about 7x the video elgnth but I digress)

One thing that could've been added is how to monitor your audio levels... like if you're in the red it means your clipping, and if you're low in the green it's probably not loud enough, etc. I've seen so many poops where the audio is so damn low I have to max my computer audio out in order to hear anything (and there wasn't even any surprise ear sex).

Stu. SUUUUUUU. Listen. There is 1 free video editor that is actually better than adobe premier and vegas. And that is LIghtworks. The thing is. You can build it with paid plugins and features as you wish, but the program itself is free, and very good too. And it works for mac and linux too.

Other than that, I can only that, you also have 2 video editors that is pretty decent. Way better than Movie Maker but worse than vegas. You have Pitivi and OpenShot. But yea. Lightworks is actually better.
