I am not trying to be mean but I know two girls who go to the same drama school as me and we did this show. We had two casts and these two girls were the kolokolo birds. Not trying to be offensive but I thinkl that these two girls were better than the one in the video, no offense to her though. :S
Love this song! And yes, I can imagine her as Mayzie, or Gertrude... I played Horton in my school's production... Loved the Seussical. It was terrific.

I personally think this song should be sung slower because it needs to have time to engage with the audience, its a sad song and it needs time to get it across to the audience... but this person has sung it reali well and you obviously hav a gr8 voice. x
hate to break it to you, Gertrude doesn't sing "alone in the Universe". that would be Jojo and Horton. Gertrude sings "the one feather tale of Mrs. Gertrude Mc Fuzz" ,"Notice me Horton". and a few more and I think that the actor will have the energy to do a really good job. I am currious though, were you in Seussical?
I know that, I was simply stating that Alone in the Universe would be a good song for her. And actually, yes. Gertrude does sing the reprise right before the court scene.
yeah,Gertrude does sing that, but if you call the reprise the song you'll get REALLY confused REALLY fast! there are so many reprises in that play (particularly how lucky you are).

She was also Gloomy Grace (one of the dwarves) in Snow White, Sausage Curl Girl/Dancing Fork in Beauty and the Beast, Mighty Mite of the Super Posse in Emperor, Leopard in Narnia, Jasmine in Aladdin (though I no longer have the clips), and Alice in Alice in Wonderland.
I'm really scared. I'm going to perform this show soon as the kolokolo bird and I'm not sure if I can make this song anywhere near as good. I know i shouldn't doubt myself but I'm really unsure about it...
I don't think this song should played at this fast a tempo. Has more of an impact if played slower. But that might just be me. She has a really nice voice. :) Well done.

little fast, but a beautiful voice. sometimes a strange vibrato, but with some trainings that can be helped. but really good!
