My mom told me about this concept... totally ahead of its time. AND: you needed to buy and add-on just to play. Consumerism, anyone?

However, I think the magic in this is that kids who thought this was magic didn't understand what was REALLY going on (fake it and pretend that the kids controlled it).

Still, one of the first RPGs / video games / fantasy games, etc. Too bad it just faked the whole thing.

I found out from Mae and Mr.Allen that Mr.Barry was not a nice guy in real life.

Jack Barry was an angry man with a mean,foul letter word mouth. And God Help You..if you did anything to get on his bad side.

My gosh drawing a tobacco pipe on a childrens show .... people would have a fit now ... I remember this show .... you bought a plastic screen at the store to go over your TV screen, and then you drew on the TV. i remember hearing about many kids who drew right on their TVs .... Lots of pissed off parents. .... Ah the 1950s ....

This was a brilliant program - a lot of us first learned to draw this way. Too bad there's nothing like it available today.
