Oh! now those were good, one of the reasons i suffer from chronic tooth decay now in my thirties, i have an old marathon bar wrapper on my pinboard pinned up by a robinsons gollywog badge in the form of a cyclist, a kind of mini eighties shrine
Great idea...so good even a certain someone used it in a YTP. BTW, if this bar were marketable under the name of the greek letter 'pi', should it be called 314(insert next 2 digits of pi here) and should be in a circle shaped wrapper
There was another version of this ad with an astronaut trying and failing to eat the bar through his helmet and the countdown 5-4-3-2-1 reflected on the visor.
My friends and I used to phone 54321 and sing it when they answered. Turned out to be the classified ads on the Burnley Express. They must have hated us!
mum kept saying, u can have one when ur older, (tut) then when i remembered, bastards had stopped making them ... all i remember is the kids fallin out of bed,
Sadly I have not seen a pack of 54321's in the shops for a very long time. How could Penguins survive when the 54321 couldnt? I saw some Gold Bars in Sainsburys a while ago, why? The closest thing you will find to a 54321 is a Blue Ribbond. Obviously they arnt as nice but it gives you an idea of what you missed. I no longer see Trio's either, shame!
Shame on you for mentioning 54321s and Blue Ribbond in the same sentence. Blue Ribbonds always ended up stale in my mum's kitchen cupboard. Wouldn't eat them until my vital organs started packing up.
Damn, it made you remember it.

Wispa bars came back after an internet campaign, so how about starting one for Trio and 5-4-3-2-1?
twittykins 3 years ago
Definitely!
I miss Trios.
Every time I go shopping I look for them in the hope that they make a come back.
What puzzles me is that Penguins managed to withstand the test of time.
