I get my braces off pretty soon but I will have to wear the normal clear retainer and I will also have to wear another retainer on my bottom teeth because I am missing a tooth on the top.( it's way in the back) :(

Of course there suppose to hurt the two or three weeks depends how u take pain. It hurts because ur not use to them and there helping ur teeth stay together just like braces. I just got my retainer and I take pain very well I don't even feel it. It's just how I am. So when u first get ur retainer there going to hurt but after a couple of weeks ur going to be pain free. Ur going to get so use to them. I hope that help u out. If u need anything else pm me.

Ask your orthodontist for something called invisalign. You have to use it in two years. Day and night the first two months, and only at night the last 22 months. It'll stay in your mouth and don't fall out. And best of all: nobody can see it :D

Ugh. I hate retainers. i just got mine a couple hours ago. there is lots of fun things to do with them but they hurt a little ocasionally. I figured out how to insert and remove them with my tounge! other than sticking my fingers in tha back of my mouth! haha. My retainer is purple and it has zebra stripes(black) it looks really cool! well keep those vids coming! BTW your teeth look amazing!!

Beautiful teeth! The braces definitely did a great job on you. I had my braces taken off 10 years ago and believe it or not, my orthodontist recommended lifetime retention of wearing retainers. I still wear them today to keep my teeth in place.

@MsStrawberry12345 I was told to wear my retainers for 1 full year 24/7 with the exception of when i need to eat. but 6 months later i went back to let them check my retainers & was told that i can just wear them at night. but if you feel like your teeth are moving, you can wear them more frequently. hope i helped :)

@katie1741 yes, it is. Because you don't have the usual pressure on your teeth that the braces apply, they will be sore fur a bit. Just make sure to keep wearing your retainer & after some time they wont hurt as much when you chew. :)

@kccowboy500 you actually can do that, but i advise against that because you could break them or crack the retainer & you gotta pay for a new one (out of pocket.. $1k or so) I just went & told the dentist that they are too loose & they adjusted them for me :)
