I can so understand what he is saying. His honesty and dedication to show people how to transcend their emotions is so apparant. He has a genuine care and speaks of his experience thoroughly. He is very knowledgable. A man who is only enlightened can speak with such honesty. Thank you for sharing.
I think i am on my way to enlightenment if not already there. I have simply not had the desire to make love to the beautiful woman i spend time with, not because i dont love her or in love with her, but because of what swami said. i am so full of bliss. people make love to create bliss. i dont need to it seems. HAHA i havent had any luck explaining that to this woman though. By questioning if you are enlightened? does that mean you are not enlightened?
There is a saying that resonates very well with enlightenment, is goes
"Ye who speaks does not know, ye who knows does not speak"
I think it is safe to say, that enlightenment will bring you to a perception, of everywhere and everywhen, all is explained in profound clarity beyond what words can describe, you "return" with only smile; infinite depth of humble humility to convey what you are.
By the time you reach enlightenment, there will be no one there to be enlightened. ;)
He seems to be very lukewarm/conflicted in his teaching about celibacy, just like so many eastern teachers who are trying to get a following in the west. You can't give too much encouragement towards celibacy, because it is very difficult. It seems to me that he gave bad advice to the fellow. The desire for celibacy in a man is very auspicious and should always be encouraged.
Using "always" can be dangerous. You cannont say what will be the right path for another person because it worked for you. Swamiji says the decision must be for the right reason. Don't force it upon yourself and don't force anything on others, please.
nextari: the straight dope is that purity is everything. For people of all abilities, the moral compass must be pointed toward chastity. christy: I don't see any forcing going on. I want to help those who are interested. Those who have no interest in purity can just go on as they do.
Swamiji, the story where dhuriyodhana asking karna 'can I pick or you pick the beads' is widely known but when you tell, it makes much more sense as to what is the so called 'being non-judgemental'. Wonderful explanation.
I am all for women respecting men and that vedic response may have reduced but let us not ignore baby girls being murdered because their already poor parents cant afford the illegal dowry still in practice.Equality among men and women bring the balance back X
Deep Thoughts: what if one day there was a device that could scan everyone's body and soul to see how strongly they are inclined to good or evil? and what if they proved there was a god (the good force)? and they killed all the evil devil people (bad force)? would you still have a job then? awman i'm jusPlayin, i like these videos.
I have received great benifit from this teacher and I have not needed to give him a penny. His teachings have done so much! Amazing is all I can say.

Amen to that. When I understand I get a lot out of it; when I don't I get frustrated.

All he is doing is refraining from forcing an idea on someone. You cannot achieve something with substance if your intentions are ego based.

These gurus should start giving the straight dope on celibacy, ASAP. The kali yuga cannot handle any more of this watered-down dharma.
