  • it's so a sad movie, ilove this movie ♥

  • Such a moving movie.......To think this really happened to someone, makes you think about how fortunate we all are. Anne was so brave. It takes a lot of courage to know that you've chosen to die. But there's no way she died in vain. Anne, wherever you are, I respect you and I hope more people do. This proves we need a new Law in the UK. If God says we have free will, then surely we could use it to end our own lives? Having to travel to another country to end your suffering is ridiculous.

  • And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

  • singing part was cheesy

  • What an incredible film

  • is it just me who was laughing? :D

i don't think i have ever cried at a movie in my life :L

  • have been crying since part 1 of the movie.

  • @the16v17

    Me to :|

  • LOL at the way her children all get to work desperately opening chocolates! :L hahahaha

  • Whats the song they sing? plz answer. I LOVE you Julie, You heartbreakingly amazing woman...

  • ok so now ive cried at that film i never have to watch it again. wanted to prove that i wasnt a heartless old cow who doesnt cry at things like that and i think i have now mean as i just cried a lot

  • Awful that this country is still so backward in the basic human needs and rights-animals are treated far far better than we will ever be ,I do hope the law is changed .

  • My god that was incredible. I can't imagine how the 'real-life' family would have felt at that pivotal moment at the end, but it really was heart-wrenching. What a powerhouse performance by Julie Walters. Bravo.

  • I can't say how upsetting I found this...but I think what got me the most was when her children started calling her Mummy again...like they were little children...

  • so glad we didn't watch this in school, i would have been in bits.

i don't think i've ever cried this much watching a film. truly moving.

  • WHY can't this be legalised in the UK??? My uncle and father both had unbelievably hard and painful deaths because euthenasia is a crime over here, and they were both too sick to travel abroad and die with dignity.

Something needs to be done to help psp sufferers and others who are suffering and wish to end it all... :'(

  • Absolutely incredible tale, even more solemn to realise it was based on the true story. Thank you very much for uploading!

  • i was told to watch and first 3 episodes for omework for school but i found the program addictiive and it is breath taking :'(

  • the hardest piece of drama to watch

  • I was so incredibly moved when I saw this on TV. Julie Walters does an amazing performance, and I completely support giving terminally ill people the right to die.

An brilliant, eye opening piece of film

  • Very moving indeed. I too think that to die with dignity should be everyone's right. And as for Julie Walters: What a superb actress!

  • I am DEVSTATED! Such a fantastic piece of drama! x

  • I have just sat here crying my eyes out.She was very brave :'( God bless you

  • omggg julie walters is amazing and to do this role i think she was really really brave :) and the film is amazing too xx

  • my heart goes to all the people who go through this.

  • this is without a doubt the most moving piece i have seen in my life, i cannot stop crying, even if i tried, it iso emotional and heart reallly goes out to her and her children

    R.I.P Anne and Jack

    xx

  • The most moving piece of drama I have ever seen. She is so brave, so so brave.

I feel for every person going through this situation, my heart goes out to you all.

    thanks for uploading :)

  • Does anyone know what music is playing here, at the start of this clip. It's a formidable piece that really suits the film.

An excellent film with amazing actors. Dr Turner is a very admirable lady, her courage, im sure, is admired by all who have come across her and her story.

  • I cant believe it happend to both parents as they say in the film a one in a million chance, it must of been something in there genes. Its a fascinating story but very sad ,

  • Of course the risk is much, much higher than one in a million for blood related relatives who suffer from neurological diseases... even those like "Multiple sclerosis" that are not directly inherited, if you have a sibling or parent or even more distant relative with the disease you are much more likely to develop it yourself. I see where your coming from though, Dr Turner and her husband were related by marriage, so there was no blood connection... Yes I agree, Pretty unusual and terribly sad.

  • I think it was composed specifically for the film!and a great piece of music it is too!totally fits the film and situation!

  • This is the most impressive movie i have ever seen! I can't watch this without crying even if I tried.. This really makes people think. So amazing

  • the music makes it so sad 2, classic julie walker is a fantastic actor

  • Yeah...really sad : (

Julie was really amazing : )

    Thanks for comment !

  • This was excruciating! Which means tremendously well-acted. Just a few days ago I was laughing my ass off at the musical of Acorn Antiques with Julie Walters as Mrs. Overall. Now I'm crying my eyes out.

    What can't this woman do??

  • I cried the second time of watching this it is incredibly moving, and what anne turner would I think have wanted.

To publicise the fact that we are not allowed to be given the right to die with some dignity in this country is awful. The law needs to be changed to prevent people from having to endure and suffer such degenerative and terminal illnesses.

My thoughts are with this family and any others who have psp sufferers in their own.

  • Yeah..i cried on that scene too > (

Yeah..i think the law needs to be change too..i think we need the choice to choose life or death .

  • I can't describe how moving this drama was to me. My heart goes out to the bravery of Anne, and her family, and those families who are having to deal with this today.

  • amazing!

  • Im glad u like it ^^

  • My DVD arrived yesterday. Watching it now :D

  • Such a powerful movie. The sad part is that this movie presents the situation with much respect and dignity and yet the reality is that most of the world looks down upon the this with disgrace. If someone is suffering physically and no longer has a quality of life it should be their own will. I'm sure many people who want to go this way would choose to live wonderful lives without pain if they could but to be trapped in a physically ravaged body for years and years is no way to live.

  • Thanks for comment!

  • It's now available to pre-order on DVD :D

  • Do you where I can order this please??

  • Amazon..

  • i had heard about this and wished to see it i never knew what it was about and julie walters plays such an amazing part in this and it has made me laught and cry so much an amazing story portrayed by an amazing actress xx

  • the first time that i saw this in school i nearly started to cry Julie Walters is an amazing actress and tells uss really what people accually have to go through and im soo glad ive seen this film as i was told iht was very emotional and such a truee storiee

    x

  • I cried my eyes out when I watched this on BBC1 and its no different now watching it again. So emotional and thought provoking. Julie Walters is so amazing in this role. The pride of British acting. Something has to be said about the filming aswell. The script, the locations, the cast, totally amazing story. I hope the children from the real life situation are living happy lives.

  • Yeah..i think everything was a great !!!!

    Really great !

  • that sad music at the start makes me think of death row when the person walks down the hall.awaiting death

  • I think we all know there are varying degrees of reason for such a procedure as well as for those who take it into their own hands. The hard thing is when it is personalized. It is difficult to hear a person ask the philosophical question of should someone have the right. Yet in the end the philosophical question must be asked and rules or laws should be clear as abuses can obviously occur without them. It would be interesting to see various laws over such a topic across many nations.

  • ..........and now i can't stop crying.

  • grate

  • This whole film was very moving and I feel sad for anyone who has to go through this x

  • Thank you for uploading this for us.

  • I must have watched this last scene about 15 times now. Simply superb acting from Julie Walters. Possibly the best piece of drama I've ever seen.

  • Yeah..This part make me cry averytime i see.

  • Thank you for posting this movie. My mom passed away from PSP January 29/08 after the most terrible suffering which lasted years. My family was devastated and still is from the effects of this disease. I wanted to see this movie and didn't know if I ever would be able to. I cried so much. I think seeing it helped me release some of my grief. You are an angel!

  • So sorry for your loss.I know how it hurts.

God bless you and your family.Your mom certainly was a great woman.

  • My god mother has PSP, I understand how difficult it is to watch a loved one go through something like this. I couldnt even imagine what it would be like if it was my mother. My heart goes out to you, the bravery of Anne and her family is breath taking. I just wanted to say I cried the whole way through also and agree with you that it helped to watch xxx

  • Oh..Sorry about ur mother .

Yeah...i cry every time i see it xxx

  • One of the best dramas of all time. Julie Walters has done Dr Anne Turner and family proud. =]

  • Where I live, I do not have English TV, so a very big thank you to gicandido for putting this on youtube. A brilliant play, very well acted and had me in floods of tears. I don't think I could be so courageous! God Bless the Turner Family.

  • Yeah..I know..here too... :(

    Im glad u liked^^

  • It was such an emotional thing to watch and had me in tears the whole way through! a great performance from all the actors but especially julie :)

  • This had me in tears! Oh my gosh! Absolutely gorgeous movie and Julie did a fantastic job once again!!! Thankyou so much for this....really. xxx

  • It's not only touching movie. It's a very good movie as well. This story is full of true and real suffer - subjects that modern cinema usually doesn't want to talk about, because it's to difficult and needs thinking. Moving drama with Julie's beautiful acting. Thank you Gisele :)

  • Welcome^^

Yeah..I think is very hard to transmit emotion when it's a real story...But julie was perfect in every detail : D

  • Gisele - Worth staying up late to wait for the end. Thank you so much - a beautiful film. Julie does it again!

  • ; )

  • Thank you for sharing this brilliant piece of drama, Julie Walters is brilliant at portraying Anne Turner, I wept buckets at the end of this.
