Sit and talk about how they're so unique, and so apart from the trends, they never realized they were just another trend. Socker says it right. Putting on an outfit doesn't make you different, rebelling doesn't make you different. What's inside does. Learn who you are before giving yourself an image. Especially when it's a bad one.

I enjoy SF a fair bit myself, although I'm generally more into oldschool fantasy settings myself. It's really all just an IMO thing, of course. I like the steampunk look myself, tbh. It's sweet you're into it because of an active interest though, and do it for enjoyment. Not many could (or would) do that, if only because they're scared to.
