  • Good on you!!!! :D

  • love this video - can't believe the bell was just sitting there behind that set - you should have taken it home!

  • Excellent video!! I had been charmed with seeing these sets, someone knows if even they preserve something of the sets??

  • @yussaa Hello, I'm afraid these set have long since disappeared, thanks for your kind feedback though

  • @scepticuk

Great video you really had some guts. I went for a tour round Pinewood a few years a go and in the lobby there is a aerial photo off this set, I have a picture of it, never got the height and scale of it from the picture though. Thanks Paul

  • Where can i find Anton's Gotham artwork?

  • Really great video, I guess in this day and age there's no way you could get away with doing something like that now.

  • gotham city....always brings a smile to my face :)

  • Fantastic footage of an incredible set! They (Tim Burton & Production ) should have returned to Pinewood for Batman Returns/1992.)

    Thanks!

  • You´re so lucky! Did you take photos?

  • did thay see the 007 stage?

  • They went there in 1989... 007 soundstage didnt exist yet

  • I was an extra on the film and the Cubby Broccoli soundstage was VERY evident during the Batman shoot!

  • Actually, it was originally built around 1976/77 when The Spy Who Loved Me was getting made. It was later rebuilt 1984/85, while they were making A View to a Kill, due to a fire caused on the set of Ridley Scott's Legend.

  • Where is this place??? It`s amazing! I`d like to go there!!

  • That's so cool. Well edited too considering.

There's a mock up of the '89 Batman set in the warner bros theme park in Germany. It might even be the same stuff. Your way of seeing it was way cooler though.

  • So was this done after the film came out, or while it was still in production? I do remember reading that they kept the old Batman for a while, because they didn't know wheather or not they would shoot Batman Returns at Pinewood. Ofcourse, it ended up in Burbank, California.

Anyway, crafty work...and nice to hear Batdance in pal sound.

  • It was after the production had wrapped, although it's such a long time ago that I can't remember how long after. This is the cut that we made at the time and we have included VHS footage from the film so I guess it had to be at least a year. As you say, they left the set up for quite a while after production wrapped. Glad everyone has enjoyed it.

  • That was fun! I think the set was used in two other movies, but I don't have the names of them. I think it allowed the accountants to shove some costs onto other productions.

  • I believe they left it up because it was planned that they would do a second Batman film there but when it was decided that Batman Returns would not be a straight-up sequel to the first and would be designed completely different, they finally tore it down about 1991.

  • You should of tried going into the buildings and shooting.. Pretty Ballsy of u guys though, thanks for the upload. I enjoyed it..

  • very rad!

  • From Batman nerds, thanks

  • However, I have been on the set of Batman Begins version of Gotham City. Which also happens to be the city I live in. I think the BEGINS gotham had a much larger scale, and real city like feel. For 89 they should've done location shots, and a set.

  • Wow, cool stuff. This was in 1989? The year the movie released? Good stuff. The day you went it was pretty grey out. I would've snapped some good pics in "crime alley" by the Monarch Theatre making it look like your Bruce. Good stuff. You guys got balls.

  • ive held about four of the screen used batman masks and suits

  • that it un freaking believable....

im lost for words... except for... YOU LUCKY BATSARD

  • Yeah dude this is quality... my bro worked on batman begins for his work experiance... got to go into the batcave and everything. Apparently the sets for batman are awesome

  • ah man the firts batman was fuckin awesome thats awesome as hell man

  • My God.... what I wouldn't give to walk around on that set. You are one lucky guy.

  • sweet....i loved the original batman movie so it is cool to see the set.

  • dang you had the guts to just jump on the set like that and no one even caught you? couldn't you still get in trouble now the wrong person could see this...awesome video though!!!!!!

  • Damn lol thats crazy! Gr8 2 hear the input of Batdance, thats my jam! lol

  • Holly shit! Great video!

  • WOW

  • this is GREAT!...Do you have any more of this footage?!?!?

  • "24-hour security" my a**. How'd you find the set in the first place?

  • I grew up near Pinewood, the set was clearly visible from the public road surrounding the perimeter fence. It was absolutely huge! Biggest set since Cleopatra I believe...

We also sneaked on to the Alien3 set when they were filming. Obviously we didn't film that one.
