  • can u do this with your arms straight instead of bent at the elbows, like in his "dubmbell bent-over raise" video? is one safer than the other?

  • 9 people broke their incline bench

  • It seems like this would hit the rear delts more?

    Could anyone explain?

  • Awesome Scott! Great instructions.

  • do you have to do the steam thing ?

  • @MrMorriz1 it's his trademark.

  • i thought it was a known thing that people make noise when they workout hard....scott makes a tch tch sound....i mean he doesnt workout at plant fitness....if he wanted to say hallelujah at the top of each rep so be it..haha

  • its actually the rear delt that gets the majority of the workout and partial trap

  • I tried this exercise today and loved it, thanks Scott!

  • hey mate, could you please make a video about Tricep work outs, i know you made one before but fresh is always better, i'd appreciate it :)

  • bro make videos on exercise for rotator cuff (with dumbbells or plates or barbell ) ;)

  • Scott is a Sparta! I just wonder what your cardio session is and is it safe for me (I've got a sensitive lower back. Thank you

  • Dose anyone in the gym ever tell you shut the fuck up doing your TCHH TCHH breathing,,so damn annoying

  • Scott This exercise for my back or my shoulders.??

    Thank you :)

  • Scott - If I lived In your city, I would hire you to be my trainer In a second.

  • looking fresh with the new haircut

  • @FrancisXavier: you're not going to use super heavy weight on this video...I see the max 40lb dumbbells. For a regular joe...15-25 lbs. Its all about form and the actual motion. He would/still use(s) heavy weight like something as Chest press. 100lbs + dumbbells. Average joe 30-90lbs... now that's heavy, especially for his stature.

  • Dude you got huge!

    Good job

  • Scott gets so much hate... rofl

  • Scott can u do a vid on crossfit?

  • Hey guys i try to do this befored i almost snap all my shit up going back to the hodgetwins!

  • Works the traps?

  • Working delts, not traps ;) . great video though, if done correctly, rotator cuff will be fine :)

  • Once again Scott you show me something I have never done, and will help me a lot. Thanks bro, you are THE MAN !

  • Hey Scott, could you do a video showing dumbbell row in the same position on the bench?

  • how many reps?

  • Another cool exercise suggestion; Thank You Scott :)

  • how much of you miss how scott used super heavy weight for all his instructional videos before?

  • Surely this is a rear delt exercise?

  • this is almost a reverse fly?

  • Your looking in good shape scot nice one bud!

  • Cant that also be a standing shoulder workout?

  • come on man put the kiddy weights down Scott Herman!

WE KNOW U CAN THROW SOME POUNDAGE UP

  • dat bawwwston accent brah

  • So this works out your back and shoulers? or what does it help?

  • u rock mr scott

  • TSHHHHHHH!!

  • Nice. Always looking for new ways to hit the traps. I've been struggling for years to find the ideal trap routine. I just can't seem to get at them like I want to.

  • Geez, his upper back looks like the Rocky Mountains lol

  • Hey Scott, I was curious if following your routines in videos such as "My Chest Workout" will put on mass. I love your physique but I am 6'2 210 trying to become a tank. Natty of course.

  • I love you Scott i've watched you forever I trying to be in your shape. Your the BEST. :)

  • hey scott.. i once was a very scrawny little boy.. i was always embarrassed to go to the gyms because they would think what the hell is this little skinny boy doing here? so then i decided to actually take my shakes and have 6 meals a day, and after 3 months people say i dont look skinny and some ppl even say my chest looks huge and buff mann scott im so happy!! i was wondering if you could give me some tips on how to get buff and leaned at the same time.. and simple foods i can find ! thanks <3

  • hello i dont have this but can i do on ball ?

  • whats the difference between doin this on the bench and doing it standing up?

    whats better for your shoulders?

  • @hockeystar320 maybe the position, because in this case, you'd clearly doing it with a rested position with your chest

i said maybe though, could be something else

    peace bro!

  • Hey Scott, did u know that u even had follower down here in South Africa. Big fan man :)

  • i would say stick with basic

  • i dont see why u wud pick this over shrugs

  • I love how he says "as always...... More good stuff coming soon" it seems like he always forgets what to say:D

  • pretty cool but I will stick to shrugs

  • this WON'T damage your rotator cuff! Imagine it at a different angle and the range of motion is just the same as the start of an Arnold press... and no one complains about those screwing up your shoulder! Just keep the weight under control, and you wont have any problems people :)

  • What's with people dogging on Scott? If you don't want to do it, don't do it. By the way, it's not going to "fuck up" your rotator cuff (unless you're doing it incorrectly or with stupid weight). Did you notice he said, "...You don't have to go super-heavy?"

  • Might be great for beginners but I wouldn't do this if youre a bit more advanced.. Fucking up your rotator cuffs lesson nr. 1, "W raises"

  • @Foxx6699 Help me to understand how this would damage your shoulders.

  • @ScottHermanFitness me also.

  • @ScottHermanFitness

He's actually right. Although it's good for shoulder/traps, it's also bad if you use the wrong weights and form. This could sideline you for weeks, possibly months due to damaged rotator cuffs. You're putting all that pressure on the upper part which is the rotator cuffs. They are not meant to constantly move that way. That is why you hear about a lot of baseball pitchers injuring their rotator cuffs.

  • @ScottHermanFitness it does put more stress on ur shoulder cus its holding the weight more through the joint.

  • @ScottHermanFitness What's a trap?

  • @skoshy trapezius muscle

  • @4happythoughts Nice, thanks. I usually just do military press and shrugs for those. Know of any good exercises for deltoids besides flys? For some reason, those are the weakest part for me and I can't seem to get the strength up.

  • @ScottHermanFitness If you've already had rotator cuff tendinitis, I guess it could be a problem?

  • @ScottHermanFitness That`s because he does it the wrong way.

  • @ScottHermanFitness i like how your eyes light up in the beginning as always

  • @Foxx6699 So tell me. Why would this NOT damage a rotator cuff for a beginner and WOULD damage it if you were an advanced weight-lifter? You make no sense. Scott wouldn't put a video of something that could harm someone. Go do some research before you criticize someones video.

  • @Foxx6699

Quite the contrary; this exercise is great if you want to beef up your shoulders and prevent injury.

  • @Foxx6699 thats why he said do it with light weight .....if you do it heavy weight your form will suffer and then you might hurt yourself

  • @Foxx6699 You are one of the retards who does bent over flyes with weight that is way too heavy, aren't you.

  • what is it for? back muscles?

  • @DrCONTADOR9999 Traps

  • yeah... specially the traps.

  • Hey Scott..I know this is totally random..but how well do Chin Ups and Pull Ups work your biceps, lats, etc. I just come from a workout session and I was wondering..6 months in the gym.

    Thanks for your videos!

  • @lovecars890 pull ups is the best exercise for widening your lats. Chin ups - in my humble opinion - is the best exercise for working biceps other than maybe concentration curls

  • @lovecars890 they are the secondary muscles that are engaged for each of those exercises. Without them, the movement could not be done.

  • @ScottHermanFitness lats r not secondary on pullups

  • @lovecars890

I would highly recommend Scooby1961's videos on pullups for you! He made some great videos on pullups lately and they tell you all you need to know about them. I personally don't want really big arms, so i only do variations on pullups for my arms, it still gives me a great pump and results.

  • @lovecars890 with chin ups ur working your biceps alot and lats moderate, normal grip pull ups your working your lats moderate to high and biceps lowish, then wide grip pull up your working your lats highly and pretty much taking your biceps out of the exercise (pretty much)
