  • i notice more and more that so called religious folk judge others more then Jesus said we are too ..I read the comments here and some are really plain stupid..

    Jesus is God ..

Jesus and only He "knows a heart" ..so for you to judge another because they sing a song you do not think is "holy" enough is scary.

God created both the vessels that sing the song ...and the music ,,, God gave David the voice to sing ..Jesus would sing any song that would glorify His Father ... lighten up.

  • i turn all songs to Jesus ... for He deserves all praise and worship ... love this song and only Jesus can show us real love!

  • Damn! He got a sexy voice especially for a male christian singer, and I actually find him sexy as well! ha

  • The best male voice! Wow!

  • What an awesome voice! Love the song and love to hear David sing. Thanks for posting Gretch :)

  • i really love david phelps. im his no. 1 fan!!!

  • will people get offended if i ignore the fact that there is a God n just praise David for working hard n developing that voice himself?

  • @JuniorDaniels I won't get offended because I c it like this; God gave him the voice, but yeah, if he didn't train, it'll go no where. God gives u a land but he won't put the building on it. He'll provide you with the equipments, not, you build. I'm a singer myself and I've learned that training is needed if you want to get real good and stay real good. Although, I'll say say, some people HAVE IT.

  • God is his inspiration tho :P

    hard to leave Him out

  • @JuniorDaniels But he didn't develop the voice by himself. God has made him what he is. He went to college to develop his voice, but how do we not know that God wasn't the reason he went to college?

  • @Kitts90 I agree with you 100% I'm have you heard David's testimony? It's awesome. He reminds me of my own, God is the reason I'm doing what I do. I am in a similar situation as David, God gave me a voice, and I'm going to college for it, even though people say I'm crazy, God has shown and confirmed this to me so many times, I'd be crazy if I didn't follow him, ya know?

  • the best voice i heard in my life.....david stiil the best......good blees you.....

  • Are their anymore of these performanced by David?

  • Just search David Phelps and you'll find a lot of videos. Are there any songs in particular that you're looking for?

  • yeah im looking for another performancve of "I wanna know what love is".

  • I like his sef titled CD and the one titled "Revelation", but I think his music has gone down hill after that.. There was only one song on his latest CD (Which was titled "The Voice") that I liked even a little.

His song titled "The End of the Begining" is one of the best songs that I have ever heard, and that was the song that got me interested in his music. But some of his newer music just seems kind of empty.

  • That high belt at 2:56 is INSANE. He's amazing.

  • Well, while ya'll we arguing about who loves Jesus the most, David just SANG this song and ya'll were so caught up in trivial ya'll didn't even know and missed the blessing and no...this was a song by the rock bank Foriegner and David turned it into on of his best songs ever....David can sing anything....not JUST GOSPEL, nor should he....that much talent should not go to waste in just one genre of music.

  • Have you people ever read the BIBLE? A little book called Song of Solomon. It's about romance and two lovers. What greater place to celebrate pure and holy love than in the sight of God. Don't we have weddings in churches? There are lots of trashy love songs out there, this is not one of them. Chill out, people.

  • I attend this church, he is singing in the sanctuary. This is a concert given after the church service. He came out and sang How Great Thou Art during the service.

  • the church is no more "holy" than my basement. where you are gathered in his name he will be among you...(your definition of holy?) the church is just a house created by man, not god, but with the general purpose of gathering for worship. i don't find it inappropriate in any way for him to perform this in church. and for the record, how is love secular? before pushing the thumbs down button, try to deny my logic instead.

  • I didn't say that David is denying Christ, you're reading addition than i wrote. :) But i don't agree with secular songs within church, i think that songs must be exclusively dedicated to God, after all, David have beautiful songs written by him to God.

    God Bless you.

  • Maybe it is just me, but I think you missed something here. There is a difference in singing in a church and singing in Church. I wasn't there, but many Contemp. Christian Concerts are held in churches and this looks like one of David's concerts held in a church. I don't think there is a difference in a church auditorium and any other auditorium if it is being used for something other than worship. I truely doubt you would hear this song or Nessun Dorma sung at a Sunday Service.

  • This may have been a secular song, but David is singing for God. God will use anything to get his message across. Well done David.

  • He's singing it to Christ. His rendition is - I want to know what love is like the love that Christ has for us. To be Christ like we must love as Christ does. I personally want to know what Christ's definition is of LOVE and I want HIM to show me to love like HIM!!!

  • Sorry but, songs of God must be sung in a church, secular songs out of it. Actually, i didn't still understand why david recorded a disc with secular musics.

    God Bless You...

    God Bless You.

  • this song can be a song that worships God, everyone wants to know what love is and only God can show us...duh! and if you sing a secular song doesnt mean you deny Christ and are going to hell you sillys

  • is it in a church? David is doing it in a Church??? Gosh, i don't believe it! :( Dear David, i sincerely hope you never depart the way of God. You're the best singer that i knew... God Bless You.

  • what a strange reaction is this? why should David ever depart the way of God? Because he is singing this song in a church?! that is the place where this song must be sung!!!

  • Still sounds like a spiritual song to me...we are always singing popular songs at church where the meaning can be applied to Jesus. It reaches more people this way instead of just isolating yourself to one genre. We want to reach all people with the message of God, not only those who listen to Christian music. Think anout it, those people are probably already followers of God and that is why they listen to that genre for inspiration.

  • Hi! David, God loves you so much. One thing i would like to tell you, i liked to hear you when you were singing with GVB. Now, i can't explain what i am feeling right now, i don't feel you. I am still praying for you. God bless you!

  • Instead of looking at this song with a world view, open your eyes and view it the way David is singing it with a Christian world view....I wanna know what love is....(The love of God)....I want you to show me...(Jesus)....This can be totally turned around into a Christian song and that's how I view it! I loved this song as a teenager for different reasons...now as a born again Christian adult the song now has new meaning for me!!

  • well said. If you listen to songs from U2 as an example, they have a similar pattern. In fact, several have been covered by Christian artists. Not saying that Bono and the gang aren't Christians. Just don't think that was the initial purpose of the songs.

  • marcelone- Sounds remarkably similar to the religious people of Jesus' day accusing Him of not being "religious" enough. There are many so called "Christian singers" singing Christian songs only to exalt their own voice. How do you judge who's doing what for what reason? Who are we to judge a man's heart or motivation? Paul said he didn't even judge his own heart. As believers there is enough criticism from others without nitpicking at our own brothers. Lighten up a little.

  • I don't know if I'd go so far as to say he's exalting himself -- but after doing so many Christian albums, is there anything wrong with doing a record of good ol' classics? I don't think so. God knows his heart and I think you're being a tad over the top marcelone83.

  • lindo maravillhoso... só nao saia dos caminhos do senhor, David... god bless you

  • That sad that a man that I praise the lord of lords and king of kings with his powerful voice, now sings only to exalt his proper voice

  • I could be wrong, but it appears as if he's singing...IN A CHURCH...listen to the lyrics. There's meaning in the words, even if the song was traditionally "pop"...U2 has several songs that have been performed by Christian artists. Mercy Me opened their concerts a few years back with "I can feel it coming through the air tonight..." from Phil Collins. Expand your horizons a little, songs don't have to be in a Hymnal to praise God.

  • does he know you did this Gretch? hehe see ya on the board and YIM.

  • Probably :)

    He's so cool about stuff.

  • Que isso? Fala Serio muito show de bola

    isso o que é cantar...........

  • haha, i thought that was so great that he sang this!

  • AWESOME VOICE BEST EVER
