I think a ninja needs to pop up and just whip fruit at you that you have to bat aside until you get to him (or her) and kick his (her) b*** in hand to hand combat before going back to casual fruit fighting. Really...it just needs something that makes it different from playing it on the iPad as a game (other than that it's kinect).
