how do the p90's do on noise level? im thinking of installing one into my guitar and i have heard that the noise hum can be very loud, if so any suggestions on noise cancelling or overall suggestions on brands or anything? i play in a leslie west mountain style.
A mini-humbucker may fit in the cavity for the P90. I don't think a full size one will without routing the body. The P90s in this guitar have screws that go through the middle of the pickup into the wood to keep them intact.
Hey man how did you attached does pickups on the guitar to keep Em still ? Is because i am going to buy some but I don't know which ones to choose between does ones or the dog ears
i bought one 4 month ago!they lovely to play, very well built guitars!but im going change the bridge pup for the p90 seymour duncan sp90-2hot soap bar,so i can have a proper metal sound in a blues jazz guitar!overall they great guitars.
@zatarain1991 The Gibby may have a better finish and resale value but the Epi holds its own and is a tone machine IMO. It's definitely more affordable than the Gibby.
Why didn't you open a claim w/ UPS?? They're usually good w/ insurance unless your dealer didn't package it well enough, in which case, you could probably get some compensation of SOME sort out of them:S
Anyway, seems like a nice guitar. Thanks for posting!
just passing... i have the epi.... and believe me. n look it´s great. but what is important is the sounf and the epi is equeal to the gibson. both are monsters, but the epi is much more affordable.
I think it was just a G to C walking down from the C chord (C B A notes) to an Aminor 7 then somewhere. I did this a year or so ago. I was just trying to show the chordal sound it had. Thanks for the kind words.

I agree you about the middle position being the best. The mid position seems to give the best of both worlds..nice mix of treble & bass..sort of very early Albert King. Thanks for this....
you should be able to either retrofit a bucker sized p90 like a SD phat cat or similar or mount a dogear P90 in that place. I don't see why you couldn't.
hey please, i just bought that guitar and it sounds great with clean sound, but in the overdrive channel of my amp that's horrible and there's a 'BZZZZZZZZZZZTTT' when i turn on the volume of my guitar! PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i tried other jack and other guitar, just with the sound is horrible just with the epiphone! PLEASE
@gamergeek3000 i just bought P90 soapbars, but i don't know what pickup is for bridge and what pickup is for neck position... are they same for the two positions ? have i to set some settings ?
@Neylus P-90's are inherently noisy. Just as strat's single coils, p-90's won't cancel the 60 hz hum since they work with only one coil. This hum increases as you crank up the gain knob. Posible solutions: a)Lower your overdrive gain. b) Get a noise supressor such as NS-2 or ISP Decimator c) Switch to humbuckers.
I am worried about buying online & having it shipped now I really want The Casino which we all know is full hollow, if this incident happend to a solid body it would most certainly happen to a hollow. I would be devastated spending $400 for a dot $500 for the LP or $600 for the Casino & have this occur. will anyone accept responsibilty, insurance or w/e. other than that this is a great video I am really sold on the P90 set-up. Thanx for posting thumbs up.
@JilaX Agreed. This guitar just hasn't got the mid-range crunch that a P-90 guitar ought to have. I'm afraid that you can buy an Agile AL-2000 for about 33% less that'll lay waste to this Epi.
i am getting ready to purchase 1 of these today how do you like yours? i checked with gibson the only ones left are what dealers have in stock so i want to add 1 to my collection while they're still available new
Mice demo. Check out some of my Gibson and Tokai demos. Cheers.

kind of bright for the whole video-maybe next time you can alter the tone controls to give more contrast to the tone capable of the P90's????/

Sounds good.....I now want to put some of these in my Les Paul!
Though I'm not sure how good they would look against its sunburst finish..

this guitar and these pickups were born to be played through a valve amp with low gain but hight volume. thats where the good sound comes from
