both , it was written by Bernard for and with Duffy probably but may have even been written for McAlmont , I think its clear though that McAlmont has had a big impact on the way Duffy sings too . please dont leave loads of the same message I had to delete 20 of the same message or accept all : )

To me "Distant Dreamer" is the strongest track on Duffy's album. Why that wasn't released as a single I don't know. It's a sure-fire hit. I love McAlmonts voice.

Alluding to comments about Alicia Keys being innovative, plllease from the singles I have heard of AK, she is a total plagiarist, think Black Eyed Peas where is the love and you think of her treatment of the same song but under another name, can't think of the name she used for it, but it was piano based, how did she get away with that?

It is no secret. this was always a McAlmont and Butler song. Now Duffy sings it with Butler. mcalmont is also, yes also involved with duffy.They were good, so is she.

All you Duffy fans out there should make a point of listening to a few McAlmont & Butler tracks, & then a few Ronettes/Crystals tracks, (Bernard Butler was hugely influenced by 'Phil Spectors Wall Of Sound') , and then you'd see, Duffy was influenced by the best !!!

Its a bit difficult to keep all the quality and song length and temp AND then altering it to the voice of a singer that wasnt even there when it was professionaly recorded LOL , but perhaps I will try it with another song .

I have ripped it from the video for my iPod and I have found that the song is in mono format and don't sound very good, then when I ask for more quality it means only stereo. Thanks anyway.
