@thebob76 the thing is, this is clearly a cover. they strayed so little from the original overall sound and feel. while that isn't bad in itself, this effort sounds quite unexiting (i guess it has something to do with the vocal delivery). technically, it is not a bad cover, but it sounds too contained and too calculated in my opinion. i prefer the original.

Great covers can keep the magic of the original while adding a new unique twist... All Weezer did, as they did with their "Paranoid Android" Radiohead cover, was to work their hardest to sound like the original band. Thus, not a great cover but a good imitation of the original band. See Johnny Cash's "Hurt" cover of the Nine Inch Nails classic if you don't "get it".
