yeah im sure most ppl that say this doesn't sound right doesn't understand what he's doing? he just used Billie jean as a metronome because it's an easy tune, to show how 'out of time' he is. he's just playing with time. I love this polyrhythm type of game, haha, I really smiled on this one.

@Danielcrspo I agree should've picked a better song because N'Dugu Chancler did the song justice on the recording so I agree Billy Jean wasn't a good choice. BUT

Solos can go 2 ways, "In the moment" or "Prepped" If someone can do improv solos balls to them....Prepped solos are just as good it's just preference and everybody doesn't learn the same way so because someone might think this is amazing and analyze it for what it's worth and then later come up with something better y'know?

@youwide23 I agree that this shouldn't be called a tribute, and he could easily made a sequenced track to play with instead. What I don't like is when people say he can't groove just because he wanted to go crazy on a MJ-tune.

He plays with Jean Luc Ponty, Frank Gambale and Zap Mama. I don't think he would get those gigs if he couldn't groove.

Chris Coleman is from another planet though. Musical chops!

He's never close to be out of metronome, But maybe your ears are. Sometimes he's doing very hard polyrhythmics which can seem off beat but which are not, "Simply" superimposing different time signatures on original track. And this is totally amazing.
