It's a threesome because, if Edward had died when he had the Spanish flu, Bella would have married Jacob. And Jake knows that, which is why he fights so much for her. That's what makes Twilight so endearing and beautiful.

Anyway, you're not seeing Bella and Jacob here. You're seeing Taylor and Kristen. Never forget that.

You got it all wrong. Bella loves Edward, but she loves Jacob too. The difference is that she loves Jake in a normal, human way. Her love for Edward shouldn't even exist, and that's why it's so intense. Because it's not normal or human. That's why she couldn't choose Jake. But, if vampires didn't exist in the story, Bella would have married Jacob. They were meant to be... if only Edward would have died of Spanish flu. That's what Twilight is about.
