When I was in Ft. Sill getting ready to ETS they told me that I wouldn't be going anywhere and to prepare to get ready to go to war. All of my friends were in shock and everyone was nervous because we didn't know if we were coming back home. I never saw this program until now 20yrs later because I tried to forget about the stuff I had seen or had been involved with. I am now sick from all the stuff exposed to and the many vaccines I was given. War only harms the living who have to suffer
This is the first time I'm experiencing this particular day from the other side of Desert Storm. 19 years ago, on Jan 17, I was on a Military Airlift Command aircraft with about 200+ personnel on our way to Rheim Main Germany. I graduated from Fort Knox a couple of days before.
The Captain of the aircraft came in to the PA and announced that Coalition forces has begun an campaign called Desert Storm. No one clapped or cheered. We'd all was shocked. The only sound was the drone of the jet engine
Really? Didn't know we used any D models over there. And, nobody was at 15000 over Baghdad that night. We had C and E's in country, no D's. Now, prove me wrong
@johnl60415 yeah right, in 91 iraq had a massive air defence system, and a f15 wasnt stealthy enough.... it was only stealth planes that wer droppin bombs on baghdad
I was stationed just a few miles south of the Kuwait border at the inception of ODS. Just sitting in the desert for months sucked.

I believe the F-15D's were all trainer aircraft. Are you sure it wasn't a Strike Eagle?
btw, I salute all airmen who served in the coalition.

Nothing like telling the enemy what they should be expecting. I wish we had targeted that hotel. Killing those cnn traitors.
