I love this old movie. My sister used to read the non disney jungle book to me after school when I was little. Bagheera was always my favorite character, so I named my cat after him.
I know people like the disney version, but people seem to forget the wolf boy did grow into a man during the story in the book. He was of sorts like a Tarzan.
I first watched This as a Saturday morning Serial on the Smilin Ed show a long with Captain Midnight Great shows and this Story is the origin of cub scouting World wide.
I first watched This as a Saturday morning Serial on the Smilin Ed show a long with Captain Midnight Great shows and this Story is the origin of cub scouting World wide
I watched this movie 8-10 years ago.....back then I couldn't notice that it was old looking from 1940's!!! wow. I'm glad I watched it cause nowadays whenever I see a movie that has quality from old days I wouldn't even pay attention to it
Sabu was also a decorated war hero in WW2. The year after this film came out, as soon as he obtained US citizenship, he enlisted in the US Army Air Corps. He flew 42 combat missions as a B-24 ball turret gunner with the 307th Bomber Group on the Southwest Pacific, the Phillippines, Indo-China, and China. For his courage under fire he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and The Air Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters(indicates 5 separate awards of the same medal) .
Er.....not to continue this dispute but... I don't see any racism .... but i am a bit dazed and my head is a bit scrambled from staying up....but whether there is racism or not from the poster or any others (though I don't agree with racism thats no reason to be hating somebody because of it and we can't force ours beliefs on others...just not possible) lets keep the heavy comments to ourselves? Everyone here is here to enjoy the movie not start a fight lets all get along^^".
But sadly people these days are to arrogrant to accept the truth and must always get the last word even though in the end we are all just monkeys in a barrel trying to find a way out
I am so sorry I didn't mean offend anyone. I love this Movie it was so beautiful and oure and I just am disgusted by terrible racist attitudes. I love this movie and yes I don't that person is worth getting angry over. Thanks :)
You racist bast**rd Austrlia is pathetic for their racist attitudes! The Guy playing Mowgli actor Sabu was georgeous! He looks something like my b/f who yes, is an Indian! And before you say anything I love him to death and he's the sweetest most wonderful person in the world! The hell with australia!
@RibbionsandStrings How dare you ! There`s racism everywhere of course but most Aussies are the nicest , most tolerant people out there ! And no, Mel Gibson and Russell Crowe DON`T COUNT ! Gibson`s Irish-American and Crowe was born in New Zealand . They just moved to Australia at young ages ( hence Crowe`s light skin for a New Zealander ) . Now , Brits !
@RibbionsandStrings really think that you fuck piss head im australian and WE ARE THE BEST I DONT CARE WHAT THE DICK HEAD SAID BUT DONT SAY THAT TO AUSTRALIA YOU FUCK DUCK HUMPING BITCH! I'D LIKE TO SEE YOUR COUNTRY ACTUALLY NOT COZ IT WOULD LOOK CRAP AND I WOULD VOMIT ON IT BUT IT WOULD LOOK LIKE SOME ONE ALREADY DID
And Reply to daynasorcutemoxy you say "we are the best.." though your love for your country is good that is an opinion EVERY country has it's ups and downs.
aswell as Ribbionsandstrings lets not stereo type people by their country you can find racists or any other type of person anywhere.
@RibbionsandStrings That's a big generalisation of Australia, just saying - we are not all racists, trust me. You in fact, are being racist by saying that we are all racist. That's just derogatory discrimination and it's not appreciated.
@srasar You are probably right. I'm think referring more to the mind set instilled from generations ago. I don't believe everyone from Australia is a racist. I have personally had some bad experiences with people from the country. Also Mel Gibson and a few other actors from the region have showed a bad attitude.
But surely the original 'Jungle Book' was a collection of short stories, rather than a novel. And the film makers merely penned something new and more 'movie like' to make the story work. ;-)
this movie is on cartoon network......remastered and wow it looks great. It looks like a 2009 film......I'm glad to find the unmastered version to see what it was like.
@AHHclowns82 i found that out after a few minutes........and don't be a jerk. I just made a mistake. And when i pressed the info button, it said sabu and other people...(can't remember) it was direct tv's fault anways
I love this movie with Sabu. Whenever it was showed it was done so rarely that I never could get enough of watching it. Thank You 4 uploading. You must be a very wise person 4 there are so many lessons to be learned from this film.

No it isn't. The film you're referring to is a remake not a remaster. Cary Elwes and John Cleese were not in the 1942 version, genius.
