what happened is now everyone has a band, a metal or genre band, and the true music pioneers that arent on majors cant survive anymore....we thought punk was dead...no, good music in general is dead...welcome to the walmart style of music....

not that I would consider this "old school" punk, it definitely hits a nostalgia nerve. Back when pop punk wasn't too overproduced and marketed as "cool" and when it was just fun to listen to and bands would be bands just to make music and party. Now "punk" shows are all popularity contests and fashion shows.  "Punk" bands today care more about their label and uniform than their music. Slick Shoes was an awesome band.

i love how people say "sounds too much like mxpx" blah blah. at the time that they came out, mxpx wasnt anything big. tooth and nail was shitty and hired the same sounding bands. sad that slick shoes didnt work out. i had high hopes for them.

No, I like punk, but I don't like some punk because the vocals, and the fact that the music is incredibly simple (all power chords/terrible melody/no expression) and they look like teenage kids who know nothing about music jumping around to a beat that is played in all basic punk rock even though it sounds like its hard but its not.
