  • About that EQ's not cutting out everything you think they are thing:

    Turn down the unwanted frequencies, but turn the "wanted" ones up, then turn down the gain to negate the boost you've given your "wanted" frequencies and properly get rid of everything you've turned down.

    Doesn't work 100% but I find it quite effective.
